Wanted larger capacity with a real agitator

One of a dying breed. Agitator which really really cleans clothes and it has a larger capacity allowing us to easily wash queen size comforters and the like. Would rather have a Speed Queen or Maytag 575 but they are dinky in size, so this is the closest thing I could find on the interwebs to an old school washer with a more modern size.
Only downside so far is with less than full loads it can have balance issues, but I'm pretty sure that's a thing for all washing machines.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Smart Washer - Great Features

This machine has so many features that make doing laundry easy. It has a soaking station that allows you to take care of those stubborn stains. The gray diamond is just gorgeous.

To big for its britches

Just because the tub is big doesn’t mean it can handle the pressure
When you put in a comforter the machine starts to rockin and makes a horrible noise
Don’t be fooled by the size and you need a ladder to reach the clothes out of the bottom and I’m 6 foot three inches

Not happy

It was great when I first got it but now, about a year later, the washer will not spin and drain. Most loads I have to respond and that doesn't always work. I have to remove soaking wet clothes to get it to spin. As an example, I put 4 pairs of jeans and a few tshirts to wash, put it on the jeans cycle and then I had to out it on rinse and spin again. Then, had to remove a few items to get it to spin. The hose is not bent, so that's not the issue
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We don’t “hate” it, but we don’t “love” it

We appreciate that on almost all the functions you can add more water, but we don’t understand why you can’t add more water to “normal”
I don’t like that you have to hit a specific button to drain the dirty water out
You can’t run a very small load in here, you have to almost have dummy towels to wash with whatever small thing you put In.
The “smart” feature doesn’t allow you to do do much from your phone either, I’m not sure what the point is.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Brand and Great Features!

I’ve had my Smart HQ washer for 5 weeks now and I’m really enjoying this GE appliance. It has soooo many neat features. I would have to say my favorite thing about this washer is the detergent tank. I add 75oz of the recommended detergent to the tank and it automatically dispenses the right amount of detergent every time, no need to be measuring detergent load after load, Love it!! On the down side of this Appliance, this washer has a huge deep tub which is great if you’re 6 feet tall. I’m 5’4 and I have to use my small step stool to be able to reach the clothe at the bottom of the tub once the cycle is complete. Overall I’m very satisfied with this purchase, I purchased the matching dryer and I’m very pleased with it as well. I currently have GE appliances in my home and have never had any problems with this brand (Knock on wood)so decided to stick to GE!
