Disappointed-no GPS

Had a previous Garmin, Vivoactive HR-great watch,easy to use and had buttons.
Vivomove has more widgets but NO GPS. Shop assistant said it was newer version of what i had and would be a good replacement.It doesn't have GPS and i have yet to record an activity usually cycling or walking correctly. The last watch had its own gps and gave great maps and data when i used the app on my phone after to view the data this is miserable in comparison and i feel duped.Either that or im not using it correctly?
