The Lenovo P53 was priced far less than the equivalent mobile workstations from Dell and HP. While I have only had it for a couple weeks, I am very happy with its preformance to date.

In general it's ok. I customized the PC with some high configs for work. Turns out the sstem itself takes 20GB (Task manager) wtihout doing anything. Also I have screen flicker issue since the product arrived.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ThinkPad will continue to be my go to source for new laptops and desktops. I buy one every time one of my siblings graduate high school as their gift to help them in college. I recently purchased the P53 for my brother who plans on going through a CS program.
I am very happy with both the product and price; but I am not a fan of shift towards an internal battery. I am sure it helps cut costs and provides a sleeker product; but your main ThinkPad fan base could not care less about the looks. We want it for the functionality. That said, the internal battery provides ample power for my brother to go through class and he can always get shore power when he is in the lab or library.
That alone is why I took a star off the rating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop is much heavier than I expected, but boy is it worth it to have all that power! I got a 16GB memory version of this laptop, with an NVIDIA graphics card, and things that would've taken me 45 minutes to download on my previous computer only took 1 minute with this one.
Random: I'm not a fan of the power cord attaching to the back of the computer instead of the side, but that's not a huge deal.
Overall, great laptop. Sturdy, powerful, high-quality screen (could be a bit brighter but that's ok), and decent speakers. My previous ThinkPad lasted me over 5 years, and I think this will be the same!
