[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using ThinkPad P series for 2 years now. I am happy with them so far but I believe they are slightly expensive. In my case the employer has purchased the laptop so I was not personally worried about the money but I would not probably buy them on my own money. Also I have been using 64GB of RAM on both machines I have been using which is really high. I am not sure how the machine would perform if I had selected a more typical amount of RAM e.g. 16 or 32 GB
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop has been a pleasant surprise. I read all the specs and about the durability when purchasing it because it is being used in outside where it is hot and humid. With excellent battery life, blazing fast speed and the ability to work in temperature above 100 degrees F it is quite the workhorse!!! The display is easily readable in our outside conditions as well. The only cons I have found so far is that the hotkey for airplane mode has a wifi symbol making you think it will turn off and on wifi. We use these laptops in and out of vehicles and one of them was actually put across a seat and sat on by a 250 pound person without sustaining any damage.
The P53 is the best workstation laptop I have ever used. I am a partner in an engineering design firm and this laptop does 3d rendering and CAM tasks faster than anything I have ever used.
There was a problem with mine when it was deliverd however it was fixed very quickly and is better than new.
The expandability of the P53 is outstanding you can put 3 m.2 ssd drives in and a ton of memory.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is actually my first laptop and I couldn't be happier. Everything is fairly intuitive and easy to use. Purchased for school knowing I will not need an upgrade any time soon to run cad/design software (which are apparently very demanding)
For a premium computer of this price I've been disappointed by a few features, most notably the noise when running a couple of applications and the quality of the screen (which has a permanent scratch after being bumped by a pencil).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
