Blazing fast running Linux mint. All features are supported, though my model doesn’t have the fingerprint scanner. I do wish the battery life was a little better, but that’s most likely a software issue rather than a hardware issue. All in all, I’d buy it again for sure.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I should preempt this review by saying that I had to RMA the first T495 that I received due to a left-click issue with the trackpoint buttons. Once I received a replacement, I have had a flawless machine that runs workflows of multiple Linux VMs, Visual Studio & VS Code while also letting me listen to music and YouTube without slowing down during compile times. It's a sturdy ThinkPad that lives up to the name and legacy but with an AMD Ryzen chipset. The only complaint is that the battery life is around 2-3 hours shorter than the T490, but it's still a very adequate charge for a day of work and productivity when I'm not docked, especially since my previous laptop was a T470p which had a battery life of 3-5 hours.
Running fedora 31 with no exceptions! Great battery, quiet operation, not hot! Pleasantly surprised. Was really unsure about Ryzen, but have no regrets whatsoever. All around great machine, bye bye, Intel.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have purchased both the T480 i7 8650u and T495 R7 3700u . Using user benchmark the T495 outperforms the T480 on all test. This machine also scored higher than our engineer's P52s.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop combines beauty and performance. The T495 will perform well with any combination of the specs available. And if you are working in an Enterprise environment, the hardware plays well with SCCM.
Pros: - Decent battery life, even with VEGA graphics - Ability to add in a stick of ram (To utilize dual channel memory) - VEGA graphics performs far better than Intel integrated graphics.
Cons: - 300 nits for the display is good enough. But 250 (depending on your config) may be a little too dim. - Gets warm! But not under the keyboard or palm rest. The heat is localized at the back and right side exhaust. - If you don't have the added stick of ram, the laptop won't run in dual channel mode, and the CPU will take a performance hit.
Overall great laptop! Lightweight, sturdy, and it performs! Just as any Lenovo should!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A powerful, well built ryzen laptop. It lives up to Lenovo's quality standards in my opinion. Despite the soft-touch palm rest and rather conservative power limits, this machine ends up being quite the little 14" power house. And, at the price, it's a steal!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although the delivery is slow. I never regret purchasing this laptop. I immediately fell in love with the look of the machine and especially the best keyboard a thinkpad can offer. The AMD CPU is snappy and easily can meet my requirement for developing applications. Love it. 5 star. Ps. My escape key and f1 keys have some problem when i received it. But kudos to the technician. I got it repaired in 2 days and I am a happy kid.
