I want to like it, keyboard and pointing stick are great. Not worth anywhere close to MSRP and I paid less than half price. Fan squeaks, ram cannot be upgraded (only 5.91gbs), power buttons gets scratched very easily, screen has a weak frame, camera is only 720p, fingerprint reader is unresponsive, body is a fingerprint magnet, and the fingerprint reader is unresponsive. Regret the purchase.
I wanted a reliable laptop for home use that I could also use for light gaming and for work related things. I wanted a laptop that was portable, had an IPS screen and had a good battery life. Here is what I picked FHD 300 nits screen, Ryzen 5 3500U, 16gb RAM with backlit KB.
From my experience, the screen was over saturated when I got it, but I could adjust it to more acceptable saturation. It is very clear and even after a little over 3 weeks, I am still shocked when I open it how good the screen looks. The keyboard is a typical Thinkpad keyboard, so it is amazing; so is the track pad.
I have yet to hear the laptop other than where it is perfectly quiet around me and then again, I need to pay attention to it.
The laptop is sturdy and and feels built to last.
The speakers provide decent sound quality, but they are in an ultra-portable laptop, so you get what you expect.
The area where I am a little unsure is the battery life. I can easily get at least 4 hours of battery life with the screen around 75%, but I am far from the expected 8-10 hours. Admittedly, I have not tested it with a timer next to me, but I have used it for a few hours and I based myself on the % of battery left.
Other than that, I have not had time to play games, but based on what I see, it seems like the iGPU is a better than what I expected (and I expected it to be good).
I wish Lenovo did not limit the power consumption of the CPU and of the Vega 8 iGPU when plugged in, if that were the case, I might have gotten a 3700U. I fully understand why you want to lock it down when on battery, but not so much when plugged in. I also wished that the RAM wasn't soldered on the motherboard, but with the 16gb I got, it should be fine.
lightweight and very good laptop. If you're planning on photo/video editing for heavy programming, this isn't for you. But if you're looking to do productivity work like word, excel, web browsing etc. this laptop is amazing and very portable
Quite happy with this machine. Battery life not as good as advertised but quite acceptable. Replaced an X220 which had a vastly superior keyboard experience and to my mind an easier on the eyes screen for long stretches of computing. My X220 was Rick solid and I’m hoping the same with this. BTW got the AMD Ryzen 5 chip and quite happy with its performance.
I love the new Thinkpad 365. It took a little while getting used to using a laptop instead of a desk top but all is good. My only disappointment is trying to register the product. I have made numerous phone calls to customer support and technical support as the form has not allowed me to open/update an account.
