Good laptop. Advertised battery life is misleading

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been impressed with this laptop so far. It is fast and boots up quickly. I like the keyboard, which was one of the reasons I bought a Lenovo. It is not, however, as "clicky" as a prior educational series Thinkpad that I had. Still good. Lots of settings to tweek battery life. I was initially upset that when my battery was at 100 percent the amount of time it indicated I had until the battery ran out was only like 5 hours, which is much less than advertised. I suppose I should have realized that to get the 12 hours or whatever that they promote you need to adjust the settings aggressively, so you are losing a lot of connectivity and also the screen gets very dark and hard to read, especially outside. Not sure other laptops are any better with regard to battery life, but buyer beware on that, it is not as if you can use the thing normally for 12 hours without it plugged in. It is a decent size. I'm glad I went for this size instead of 14 or 15. This size is easier to get into a briefcase and will make it more likely that I will use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The computer seemed to work fine at first, but then I started receiving notices that I needed to update drivers and software, and I am still unable to download anything 95% of the time. When I try to do Zoom video conferences on the laptop, it freezes constantly. I updated Windows to make sure we had the most updated drivers, but it still is not working properly, so it is likely a hardware problem. I have to bring it in to service now. I don't have high hopes this one will last 14 years like my last HP did. Customer Service has been great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The FN and Ctrl keys on bottom left corner of keyboard are switched compared to most products I have purchased. This has caused me to change my typing strategy and not sure if I want to continue using the product because this makes me less efficient. Good product other than this though.
