[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Thinkpad in the field...I'm a nurse who does extended humanitarian assignments. We were provided Thinkpads for communication and reports, etc. I got very comfortable using them but the model they provided was quite bulky and heavy (this was several years ago). I thought about buying one for myself back then, but I was still using the "other guys" non PC laptop. Well that one had finally is about to give up the ghost so I found this one...I have only used it for a week and I.Love.It….still getting used to all the features, but the ones I like best are: the manually operated "veil" for the camera ( love my privacy and no more sticky tape or bandaids).I also love that you have the option to use the trackpad or the track point and buttons. Its super light and thin and I travel a lot as a travel nurse and for the humanitarian work I do so that's important ( for the overseas work, I'm limited to 20lbs total). I also am enjoying that it doesn't get hot while streaming movies like other laptop did. Other advertised features that I haven't yet put to the test are that its supposed to withstand extreme heat and cold and dust situations...the ones I used in the past in extreme heat (120 F) and dust defiantly passed with flying colors...I'll have to see with this one. The only thing that is a bit annoying is that when you open it, you have to hold the bottom half down, so it requires you to use both hands. Maybe the hinges will loosen up a bit in time, but still not a huge problem. All in all I'm enjoying it and it was ready to go right out the box.
