I just installed the vent in a new kitchen renovation and I (and more importantly, my wife) am very happy with it. The quality is excellent for the price; as good as one costing three times the amount. I would buy it again. One suggestion: On the website, there needs to be a notation of where the electric outlet should be placed to plug in the hood. This, of course, needs to be placed well before the hood is installed. It could be that I missed it but I added an outlet the ended up behind the hood so modifications were required. Even so, I'd still recommend the unit to anyone needing a great vent hood.

Very good quality for the price

I am a contractor and have put in two of these in the past month. Everything is good about it. Noise, installation, quality, shipping. The optional chimney sizes and the crown put it over the top. The only thing i did not like about it is that the lights are on the back. We did a full granite backsplash which is about 1 1/4" deep. The lights touch the backsplash and cannot be moved. The light also highlights the seam in the granite that we had to put in this case. I am sure that if it were a tile backsplash it would do the same by highlighting any imperfections in the tile by shining a light straight down. I will be reccomending this to another client soon, but will give a warning about the light situation.

I decided on the 36 In. Wall Mount Range Hood In Black Stainless Steel (Bsken-36) to go above my 30 in range (SO GLAD I GOT THE WIDER HOOD). The hood itself is perfect for the design of my clean line kitchen. It is not too showy 9as to take away from my soapstone counter) and also not your typical boring range hood. I love that the led lights have a dim option and that they are movable! Mandy with TheRangeHoodStore customer service was very patient and helpful in my quest to find a hood to fit with my soffit (only 74 inches of clearance from the ground). After much trial and error, we figured out the short kit addition would be the only way to go. That said, this model does not have matching molding and it turns out my soffit was not built square. My contractor and I will have to do some creative problem solving to hide this. Seems someone along this whole process would have considered that? Anyway, I selected a ZLINE hood due to the lifetime motor warranty. I was shipped 3 damaged or cosmetically challenged hoods.....and finally decided to keep the 3rd for a discount as I was tired of trips to fedex. There seems to be a need for better quality control and better communication with staff as to what would be necessary to install (we needed more clearance than what was mentioned). Also, I was not happy that the short kit cost me extra money and that I was not able to substitute it for the regular 16 inch chimney included. Now I have a $50 chimney section that will be unused. Seems so wasteful. The kitchen is not finished yet but I wanted to post a review because pictures of real life are so much for helpful when making decisions. Its a decent low noise level at 1, but anything above that and it would be hard to hold a conversation close to the stove. I dont mind, as the hood has a purpose to serve!

I search for many months before finding this range hood and I am so glad I did! The biggest challenge was fining a range hood that would fit well under a 4 foot window. This hood is well constructed, easy to install and very quiet for the power it provides. We were able to match the cabinet paint as well.

I just purchased the walnut 42" hood and it looks amazing. It installed within an hour complete with electrical and venting. It was the perfect addition to our summer kitchen. Not only does it look great, it is quiet and the lights are perfect for added light over the grill. I am looking forward to using it this summer.

Purchased about a year ago and incorporated into cabinets. I moved in 6 months ago and am very happy with look and performance. Moves large volume of air - makes some noise, but not bad for its power. I would buy again. Paul in Pensacola

So far my wife is happy and that somewhat solves my problem. However, a few design features that I don't like: 1. The under the hood lighting is more decorative than being an asset for lighting for the cooking area, 2. The "Chimney Sleeve" was made too short to accommodate 9 ft ceiling. The inside sleeve was 4 " shorter than the one it replaced. 3. Always pack an extra screw in the install package.

While the hood works well, its installation left much to be desired. The mounting screws were aluminum so if you screw them in and out too many times you strip the heads. The chimney screws were a loose fit and had to be replaced. The hood is NOT sized to take a standard 6" duct (why not?) and the provided duct is plastic. We all know what happens to plastic over time when exposed to heat and vibration. Still, though, it is a beautiful product and I am optimistic!
