Two Days Using the NewAir Portable Ice Maker

I bought this portable ice maker cause the ice maker in our high end refrigerator freezes up after a couple of weeks and needs to be unthawed and requires a lot of maintenance. I have used this ice maker for two days now and have made 20 lbs. of ice. This ice maker produces ice as described. The only issue I have is when the ice is made it is not completely frozen it is in a soft state. You need to place a full basket of ice into a freezer bag and place in your freezer to become solid otherwise it will melt quickly. As of this writing I am satisfied with this ice maker and would recommend it.

We wanted an ice maker to fill water bottles for school mornings and days where we ride bikes or hike and need to keep water bottles cold. This keeps up with our active lifestyle - makes ice fast!

Great ice machine, and stylish!

Loving this ice machine! Have never run out of ice, and it replenishes quickly. Tastes great too. I also love the color and style. I have it white, and it matches my kitchen perfectly. Its a pure white color.
I've had other ice machines, and for the first while the ice tasted funny, but not the case with this one. It was great with the first use!

This ice maker is a game changer around our house

We are all ice users and never have enough ice by the end of the day. And you can forget about it when we have family meals. But with the NewAir Countertop Ice Maker this is no longer a problem.
I like the looks of it. It is modern looking and can be plugged in anywhere without taking up a lot of space. But don't let the compact design fool you. This is one serious ice making machine. It can produce up to 33 pounds a day which is the equivalent of you buying three (3) of the ten (10) pound bags of ice from the store!
Setting up the ice maker was simple. Just fill the tank with water and plug it in. All the buttons are located right on the front panel with makes it easy to turn it on and select the size of ice you desire. Ice can be made in two different sizes. A smaller size is perfect for glasses and beverages while the larger size easily fills your smaller coolers or beverage tubs.
I like that it makes ice quickly. In fact, the NewAir Countertop Ice Maker makes a new batch of ice cubes every eight minutes! And it continues to make ice until the basket is full or it needs more water. Once the ice tray bucket is full, the unit will pause until you remove some of the ice using the included scoop or dump the removable ice tray into another container.
Seriously, if you are always running out of ice...order yourself one of these ice makers. You will be so glad you did!

Started out great, hopeful for the replacement

This ice maker worked great for the first couple uses. But than it started to act up more and more. Sometimes it worked ok for a random amount of time before it stoped functioning and sometimes it didn't work at all. Thankfully customer service via email has been prompt and helpful. I'll be very pleased if the replacement works consistently as well as the first one did during the first use. **I was asked to write this review by customer service in order to get free shipping on the replacement unit**
