Simple, solid, and a workhouse. We all love this machine and it has stepped up our coffee experience ten fold.

Old is Better

I am reviewing an old Pixie. Mine works like a charm. I find that some of the capsules can get stuck and explode. After about 9 years this started happening so it has nothing to do with me. I use only the short button for espresso and the long for running the rest of the water through to clean after use. I have descaled from time to time. Getting back to the water-I refrigerate the tank half full each night then have two or three capsules in the morning. Repeat. Parts can wear out of course. But this is the only machine that takes time to heat the water. This is all key to a good short espresso using the stronger capsules. The smaller machines I’ve had and used are not as good.

The water container’s prongs that hold it in place AND the lid have broken over time. NO WAY TO BUY A REPLACEMENT.Am I supposed to to throw away a perfectly working making due to lack of parts?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased again after almost 10 years!

My original Pixie machine was purchased in 2013 and it lasted through 2022. I just repurchased the same machine and the coffee tastes great. Great little machine for NYC apartments with minimal counter space. Hope it lasts just as long. Very happy with this company overall. Great quality products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my first pixie 10 years ago and just bought a 2nd one for a vacation house. Although it’s technically only an espresso machine (doesn’t make large cups of coffee like the vertuo machines, I make my morning cup every day using one lungo pod + one espresso + one lungo pour of jot water (no pod) and it makes the perfect amount for my morning cuppa. I also love that I can make a quick decaf or iced coffee using the same machine. And we recycle our pods!
