Something of a disappointment

I had three of these original pixie machines. One for my office, one for my home, and one for travel. I probably pour 4 cups of espresso daily between myself and my co-workers. Unfortunately two of the machines died and it was impossible to fix them. I went all over Nespresso and online checking the videos, taking portions of the machine and changing them, but one of leaked and would never stop leaking and had to be thrown away. The other one just stopped suddenly, it would light but then nothing would happen, and the price of getting it refurbished was more than it was worth. Also, I was fanatical about following the cleaning directions, using nespresso's own goods and instructions, but other drawback I found with these machines was that they are really difficult to keep clean and avoid buildup. Despite using the Nespresso descaling and cleaners, along with a toothbrush to get the area right around the rim and inside, the coffee would taste muddy within a month of use. That was with using Nespresso capsules. I have a little essenza that I'm using now when I travel and we'll see how that works out. So far so good. But I have to say that for the price I paid for these pixies, they have been a disappointment. Two out of three is not a great record. One of them was under 3 years old, one was two and a half years old, and one was four years old.

Your machine has a one-year warranty and a lifetime of troubleshooting available via our toll-free number 800-562-1465. If troubleshooting is unsuccessful, we have replacement options via our Assistance Service Program for the Essenza Mini and Pixie machine models, even when your machines are out of warranty. We recommend reaching out to us with any machine issue via our toll-free number or Live Chat from our Nespresso website, when you select “Machine Assistance” from the live chat category, to speak with a machine expert. Aside from brushing the coffee outlet opening and pyramid plate inside the capsule chamber with a damp toothbrush, we also recommend priming your machine three times before you brew the first capsule of the day without a capsule, using the large cup button. Enjoy your Essenza Mini machine. It’s a great machine to travel with within the US.

Not like the original Pixie at all. Disappointing

I have the original Pixie for close to 10 years! Amazingly powerful and although my fire engine red pixie no longer lights up like a jukebox it works perfectly. Got a new one for a second home recently and it is no way the same. Coffee and espresso is weak on the new version! Would not suggest this to anyone and perhaps because it is not as good as the original version

To reset to factory settings, turn off your machine and press and hold the Lungo button and turn the machine on. Release the Lungo button and both cup buttons will blink quickly five times to confirm your machine is reset. Don’t buy this machine.

This is my second nespresso machine, and it's really annoying that the water leaks out every time I brew coffee. The first machine, citiz, also leaked a lot of water, so I threw the machine in the trash and bought a new pixie, but the same problem occurred. It seems to be a common chronic disease of Nespressso machines. I don't recommend this machine to others.

Leakage due to coffee grind build up

Been over a little over a year I own my pixiie and now it’s just leaking water due to coffee grind build up in the unit. There’s no access to unclogging the build up.

European style espresso in my American kitchen

Bought with gift money 3 years ago on BF. Can’t believe how delicious my espresso is from this beauty of a machine. Rich, luscious, dark coffee body —foam cap so decadent if I want, this is the only coffee I can love black. With cream, milk, etc it’s lovely. Metal not plastic; handsomest appliance in kitchen. Wonderfully European. Also found in the finest hotel rooms when I travel. Highly recommend — 5/5 Love trying different coffees; but none touch Nespresso.

My favorite machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having tried three different espresso makers, I have come back to this model. I originally bought the Pixie years ago, when it was first released, and it lasted for over 15 years. I tried a few cheaper models after that, and none of them measured up, so I bought my second Pixie about a month ago. It heats up quickly, doesn’t take up much space on the counter, and makes great espresso.
I would recommend this to a friend!
