Nice camera for hiking

I have been using this camera for a few weeks on my hikes in Colorado. It's a lot lighter than my older 60D. I spent a couple of weeks deciding between M6 Mark II, the Canon RP, or a Micro Four Thirds option. I ended up going with the M6 Mark II obviously. I really like the light weight body and lenses, I just can't carry the big cameras on long hikes any more.
Image quality seems good, and the focusing was better than I expected (at least for landscape photography that I'm doing). I like being able to just touch the screen to select a focus point. I am getting very good depth of field which is nice. I took some beautiful photos of wildflowers with a waterfall in the background. It was a challenging steep location to take pictures and I was really amazed that they all turned out even though I didn't have to go through a bunch of settings while trying to get the shot.
A couple minor things I don't like:
1. It may seem silly, but I wish the horizon line/spirit level feature could be turned on independently from the histogram. When they are both on it is hard to compose the shot.
2. It is a little to easy too turn the wrong knob and adjust exposure compensation. Hopefully I get used to the controls and stop doing this accidentally.
Overall I'm very pleased. I think this will be the main camera I carry from now on.

Great travel camera/lens combination

Excellent travel camera and lens combo. EVF makes camera a bit awkward, but I find it necessary when shooting in bright sunlight or when paired with my EF 100-400 IS ii USM for wildlife shots. If you have any other Canon EF lenses, seriously consider getting the EF-M converter and use the M6 ii as a superior second body.

I'm not a professional photographer, but I wanted a nicer camera that could take high quality photos. This is the best camera for just that! You can also use the lense adaptors for ef to mirroless, so you still have great lense options.

Great size and performance!

I love the weight, size and performance of this camera! I only wish Canon would make high quality lenses or any telephoto lens for that matter to fit this camera. I am forced to use EF lenses with an adaptor if I want to quality of an L lenses.

I've only had this camera for a short while, so I can only say for now it is smaller and lighter than the larger DSLR cameras I own. the usability seems to be on par with what I come to expect from Canon in general. I am very happy with the smaller/lighter sizing this camera provides for now. The quality is still the best. For my needs, I'm interested in the mirrorless format, so I may look into the R line of Canon's DSLRs later on.
