Works Quite Well

Running this thing for several days now. The period of solar charging is extended by at least 2 hours each day (starts earlier and stops later). The charge initializes at lower wattage (amps). Charging per se is (seems to me) faster.
Good value.

The must have accessory module

The MPPT module is a must have with Yeti 1000 or greater sizes. It simply converts access panel voltage into storable power. Charging time is reduced. and up to 25 amps of input, also you can still use the PWM controller inputs. You'll love this.

Yeti MPPT works as advertised

The MPPT made the difference on a dark, cold, cloudy Michigan autumn day between no charging at all and a solid 40 watts from 3 panels. It also optimized the 120V power supply from 65 to almost 80 watts.

I bought this for my Yeti 1400, and am using it with 3 x 100 watt panels on my garage roof. A like for like comparison by unplugging from standard solar input and plugging into the MPPT controller showed an immediate +30% increase in input wattage. Very pleased with the results. Mains charging is faster too using my home made 250w power supply.

A great way to add second solar circuit to Yeti X
on July 15, 2023

I bought this to add to a second solar charging circuit to a Yeti 1000X lithium and it's a great way to charge with two sets of dissimilar panels. In my setup, I have 2x100W panels in parallel that are roof mounted on a small trailer. They are not GZ and have a 25V Voc rating so I need to run them off the built in MPPT. I also have a Boulder 200 panel that I use when power draw is high for my setup, and that I can plug into the expansion module to use both panels optimally. In my setup, I've seen over 400W simultaneously on the two channels combined, which really adds the juice. The limit I've seen here is that this unit has a 22V max which is quite low vs the more modern stuff, but GZ panels have a Voc under this so it works out fine.

Failed after 5 days camping in Colorado

I had this in my new Yeti 1000 on a 5 day camping trip to Colorado. It failed on the 6th day. It's junk in my opinion and you shouldn't have to purchase one in the first place!
