These work great

We recently purchased 2 Boulder 100 solar panels as part of our "preparedness" efforts, but used them this past week as we camped for 5 days. They easily charged our Yeti 400, our Sherpa 100 Power Pack, Lighthouse 400 lantern, our son's Sherpa, plus several smart phones. We are thrilled with all of them.

Boulder 100 Solar Panel - Great, but more like 80w
on July 23, 2020

I bought the Boulder 100 because it was the largest solar panel that I could mount onto my roof rack. I didn't end up using the Goal Zero brackets, and instead came up with several designs of my own so that I could mount it, but still have it removable for portable power anywhere I go, for camping, or filming in remote locations, or various outdoor events.
The Boulder 100 provides more than enough power than I need to fully charge a Yeti 400 in a single day. It's kinda over kill on that aspect. I probably could have gotten away with a Boulder 50 instead. The 100 charges the Yeti 400 faster than the wall charges does, so I haven't even plugged in the Yeti to the wall since I got the Solar Panel. (because of this, I'm going to be expanding the capacity of my Yeti 400 by connecting a battery in parallel - to capture more of that sun light)
The Boulder 100 is built very well and sturdy, and I'm thankful for that, since at it's size it's a bit large and awkward for one person to move around and mount and dismount on my roof rack. I haven't noticed any flex in it.
Unfortunately the most that I've been able to get out of the panel, is in the low 80 watt range on a very clear and sunny day here in California. I'm typically getting 40 to 50 watts mounted flat, and 60 to 70 watts pointed at the sun. That so far, is the only downside to this panel. If it was called the "Boulder 80", I think it would have been a bit more realistic. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5.
For the price, I'm very happy with my purchase. I now leave the Boulder 100 mounted on my Nissan Pathfinder, and I leave the Yeti 400 in my vehicle, and don't have to frequently take it out and lug it inside to charge it.

Solid performance in mostly sunny conditions

On a typical "sunny" Michigan summer day, with a few puffy clouds and our high humidity, these do a solid job pulling in about 60% of the rated max (so, ~60w each). When it's overcast, they fall to more like 20w each. We run the longest cord from these to the Yeti through a window and four panels on a sunny day can power our 7cu ft freezer with power to spare. It's really worth it to reorient them every 90 mins or so. Luckily, they are not too cumbersome to move around.

Great Solar Panel -- High Output, Easy to Handle

This is a great solar panel. We have now purchased three of them, and they power a set of Goal Zero batteries at a cabin that is off the grid on an island in the middle of a lake. They put out a lot of power, stand up to the weather well, and are small and light enough for one person to handle them with ease. The "kickstand" is a nice feature that we use on one of the panels, and just push the legs into the ground. We used to have some smaller Boulder panels mounted on a wooden frame, but the ensemble was heavy and hard for even two people to manage. The individual Boulder 100's put out a lot more power and aren't difficult to manipulate. Overall, we are delighted with power output and convenience of the Boulder 100 panel.

Boulder 100’s Chained/Installed on Remote Cabin
on November 18, 2021

I purchased two of these then chained and installed on roof of our remote cabin. Using GZ mounting brackets I attached directly to our metal roof and used 30’ Anderson cable to run down and into cabin to Yeti 1000. Even though roof/panel pitch is only 20 degrees, it takes little time to top off battery and be ready for our use.

100 Watts? Hmmmm 🤨

I’m in Texas. The Texas sun is about as hot as it gets. The best I’m seeing is 55 watts at High Noon. 100 Watts? I don’t think so. And no, I’m not using the extender cable. Just the cable that came with the panel directly into my Yeti 3000x.

Solid Panel - Connection is Proprietary

The Boulder 100 isn't too big, it is durable and well made. The kickstand is only really for one setting if you have an uneven or odd angle you need to set it for. The power out connection is obviously the 8mm GZ standard. If you are so inclined you can re-wire it, the cable box on the back can be opened with a medium flat blade screwdriver. MC4 would be a better connection type, as there are MC4 to 8 mm male adapters available.
The cabling is not an ideal gauge for transmitting power over any distance either, so beware you will have power loss if you use an extension cable.
On a sunny day it creates power very well - I was able to see 80w plus in very non-scientific random checks. Under heavy cloud cover it isn't really effective but I still saw 1 to 3w of generation.

Reliable, powerful, easy to use

Used to charge Yeti 400. Wore down battery to empty first night while camping in Angeles National Forest. The panel charged from 0% to 80% in 5 hours. As expected took some time to get that last 20%, but it charged to full before dinner. The best solution I've found for portable power at a campsite.
