My old refrigerator collapsed and I was fortunate enough to be able to order and receive a new fridge within a week. Luckily, my space is small and so I needed one of the smallest models - maybe that was why I got my fridge so soon. I must say that things change over the years. The inside of this fridge is all plastic except for glass over the vegetable bins. However, I think it will be a lot easier to keep clean which pleases me. I've only had it for two days and my hope is that it will last for at least 5 years, hopefully 10, but one never knows with appliances nowadays.
These refrigerators hold up very well. I used this same one in my garage for 20-plus years. I hoping this new one last that long. 1 thing I don't like is the wire shelves pop bottles will not stand up on them.
Model HPS16BTNRBB was almost the only unit that could fit in the small space occupied by a failing 30-year-old unit. We had no favorable expectations but are satisfied that we are able to resume with the basic functions of cooling and freezing without major modifications to the kitchen. Do not expect more. This inexpensive model has limitations. The cooling air vents in the refrigerator section will freeze any food place directly in the airflow. The 2 leveling screws are only useful for front-to-back adjustment, not side-to-side. The 2 enclosed bins are cheap and do not slide smoothly. The thermostat measures temperature in the refrigerator compartment, and there is no control over the cold air vent between compartments; independent temperature control of the freezer is not possible. We find that the temperature fluctuation in the freezer varies between 0 and +10 when the thermostat is set to the recommended value of #3. It apparently must be influenced by the temperature in the refrigerator. As stated in the user manual, this unit runs longer than our old unit; it is noisy, but not objectionable. For the price, GE has made a usable unit: absolutely no frills, just the fundamentals. If this is all you expect, you will be satisfied.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We needed an extra fridge when our 2nd fridge stopped working. We have a small space in our kitchen area. This fit perfectly! We use this fridge for overflow prepared foods. I make meals in advance or have leftovers from the night before in here. So far, it is a really nice fridge.
