Hey there, we appreciate your honest feedback and we're sorry your freezer has been opening and that you're unhappy with some of the designs. We can see how this would be a headache, so we're happy to pass this along to our product team for them to look into.

In addition, it's not unusual on a two-door refrigerator for one door to pop open when the other door is being closed. The refrigerator and freezer sections are connected by air channels to allow air to pass between them. Slamming or vigorously pushing a door shut forces air from one cavity into the other, often pushing the second door open.

If the freezer door stays open, check the leveling legs. The front of the refrigerator should be slightly higher than the back to allow the door to close normally. When properly adjusted, the door will close smoothly and firmly on its own. You can then ensure the gasket is sealed properly.

Lastly, you can try to place heavier items in the freezer door compartments to provide some ballast (weight), since this is the smaller door and is more likely to pop open. Make sure there is nothing in the freezer or refrigerator that is preventing a door from closing tightly.

We hope all this is found useful and we're wishing you the very best. Thanks again for reaching out.

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. So sorry to hear that you're not totally pleased with your new fridge. We did want to say that for refrigerators and freezers to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run much of the time. Refrigerators and freezers have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time. This makes them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is actually running. Also, if you've got questions or concerns about noises coming from your fridge, this article can help to clear those up: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901&_ga=2.128018572.1621076406.1657639873-1391095742.1657639873

We do hope this is helpful. If you've got other questions or concerns, know that we're always happy to help out.

Best wishes,
