The fridge works fine. But I didn't realize the model I selected was a "bare bones" refrigerator -- no light in the freezer -- no ice cube trays or ice cube bin -- minimum shelves in the fridge. As a pensioner, I can't afford more expensive models, but this is stretching it too far.
I purchased this fridge a few months ago, because my other one clunked out on me over night. I was in a hurry to purchase a new one since we are in the dead heat of a GA summer and items were spoiling quickly. I saw this particular fridge and felt it would be a great fit in my home. The only thing is it's a little smaller than my old one, but I'm slowly getting used to handling the space inside the fridge that it does offer.
The wire shelves are just awful. They don't give even support to narrow base objects, like glasses, resulting in spills. Also there is no lunch meat crisper and the height spacing does not lend well to many types of jugs. It also doesn't cool as well as I would like.
I bought this refrigerator for a rental unit. My renters love it and were so happy when it was installed. I would purchase this unit again. It was economical and dependable! I love my GE appliances!
This is a smaller unit than I previously had and have found that it works just as well. Among being much quieter to operate, it is laid out well. I only wished it had glass shelves but I had Plexiglass cut to fit on the wire shelves and problem solved. The bins for veggies and fruit are a tad small but adequate. I would not recommend this for a large family but for two people or one person it is perfect.
