I bought this refrigerator about 2 months ago and am quite pleased with it, though the two side shelves are open which requires appropriate placing of items lest they slip through the opening. This is a design problem that should have been recognized.

I purchased this refrigerator 15 months ago. Just beyond the warranty, the refrigerator stopped working (still "running", but not "cooling"). This was purchased for a rental property, where my tenants keep everything meticulous - and did not do anything that would have caused these issues. I am now trying what GE recommended - a "manual defrost" and hope that this works and does not continue to happen as it requires turning off the fridge for 8-10 hours. I am giving this a 1 star based on the fact that it is causing issues so soon after purchasing. Very disappointing as I purchased this product based on the positive reviews and the reliablity.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

THE UNIQUE SHELFS ALLOW LARGE ITEMS AND THEY LET ME SEE EVERYTHING WITHOUT HAVING TO MOVE ITEMS AROUND.
