I bought this refrigerator several weeks ago and so far I love it. It is in a small Cape Cod house. I have narrower entry doors than the usual and it fit through! It's perfect for a small area, a low ceiling kitchen, or as a second refrigerator. It does it's job very well and has quite a bit of space for a smaller unit.
I bought this to put in the basement as a spare so when we have "overflow" from our kitchen, we have space like on holidays or special occasions. It is great! We keep some cold drinks in there, take advantage of meat specials and freeze it, and when I bake, I have a cool place to keep stuff until it is served!
Unfortunately the freezer door does not stay closed. I'd had a guest staying with me since it was installed on 6/6 and each time I found the door not quite closed (there's about a 1/4 inch gap between the door and the frame) I'd assumed that my guest hadn't closed it correctly and had closed it again. Now that she's not here, I realize that although I close it correctly, and it does close correctly, the next time I check it, it's slightly open again. (I don't have too many things stored on the freezer door making the load too heavy.)
The cost of electricity in HI is the highest in the nation, so this is a significant problem. I''ll start the process of reporting this problem to the correct dept of GE today.
