AS A PREVIOUS APPLIANCE REPAIR MAN I ALWAYS LOOK FOR GE.. I'VE DUG INTO THEM ALL AND HAVE FOUND THAT GE IS JUST ABOUT ONE OF THE BEST ALL AROUND IN QUALITY. IVE SEEN THEM CHANGE AND IMPROVE ON THINGS OVER THE YEARS WHERE OTHER BRANDS JUST REMAIN THE SAME.
WE NEEDED A FRIDGE FOR THE NEW HOUSE AND I CAME ACROSS THIS PARTICULAR MODEL THAT WAS COMPATIBLE IN SIZE FOR OUR CABINETS.. SEEMS TO BE SEALED UP GREAT. HAS GOOD THICK DOORS.. IT RUNS QUIET AND COOLS DOWN FAST.. I PARTICULARLY LIKE THE SPACE IN THE FRESH FOOD DOOR AS THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR A GALLON OF MILK.. JUST KEEP THE COILS CLEANED IN THE BACK PERIODICALLY AND IM SURE THIS FRIDGE WILL HANG AROUND FOR QUITE A WHILE..
The refrigerator works well, but it is very noisy. It makes strange clicking sounds when the freezer door is opened, and the motor hums loudly when it is running. The refrigerator seems to be rather lightweight. When I try to open the door, the entire refrigerator moves.
Nice design. Width of fridge is on the thin side, but the fridge is also tall and deep to make up the good sized 17.5 Cubic feet. No freezer light. Runs quietly. Good product.
Very pleased with this refrigerator. It runs quietly and sounds like a refrigerator should sound as compared to the very loud buzzing noise in similar models by other manufacturers. This refrigerator was built in a U.S. factory as compared to the noisy ones made in Mexico. I originally purchased a refrigerator from a competitor but was very disappointed by the very loud buzzing sound it made. Very glad that I switched to the GE model.
Just had this delivered. It is pretty noisy as it cools down initially, but it is our overflow fridge located in the basement storage room, so no worries. I hope it has the reliability we have come to expect from GE.
