Can be loud but otherwise fine

Our kitchen opens into our living space and when the refrigerator runs, it can be distracting. Also the cripser drawers don't slide out very smoothly. Otherwise it seems fine and is a good size.

Good fridge, but difficult to remove blue film

So far this is a great fridge that we use in the basement as a second fridge for various purposes. So far it has worked great and is fairly quiet. Much better than our old one that died. My only complaint comes from the packaging and assembly. The blue plastic film that's used to protect stainless steel is tucked under all the seams, so where the inside rubber and plastic parts meet the steel, it's securely stuck between them. This is true the whole way around both doors. It is impossible to remove 100% of the blue film because of this. There will be a little bit of blue film sticking out of the seams for the life of the refrigerator. Also, the insulation inside the doors is rather stiff, but you have to get screws through it and the plastic GE decal sticker has to puncture it somehow. There doesn't seem to be a way to make the door handles 100% flush with the door. There is the slightest little gap because of curvature. The decal sticker is made of aluminum so it bends easily and it has a little plastic tab in the middle that's suppose to puncture the insulation. It doesn't, so it bends the decal and makes a little hump in the middle. Striking it with a deadblow mallet does not push it in. So that will be a little ugly for the life of the fridge. If not for these cosmetic flaws, it would be a perfect score.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So Far So Good

We just got this on Friday, so I can't speak to it long term. So far, we love it. It helps that it was literally the only one that would fit. About the only complaints we have is its a little too easy to slam the door and the light could be a bit brighter. It's nice and quiet and does the job.

Can door support extra shelf?
