Installation went well. I was very disappointed in the sound level as it is much louder the badger that it replaced. If I could do it over I would never buy this model again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been pleased with our new Disposall - sound is moderate, and it grinds completely, and empties completely, as long as water is run 5-8 seconds after it sounds empty

Nice product with easy installation. The only problem I had was that it did not come with a 120V cord and plug. This may have been my fault by not researching all the features before I made the purchase. I installed the electrical cord from my old disposal which was quite easy. I would recommend this product for its performance and value.

Easy to Install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed with how easy this was to install. The hardest part of the whole operation was the removal of the old one. I upgraded from a 1/3 hp to this 1/2 hp and am truly impressed with its performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a similar GE unit that lasted over 10 years. The turntable rusted out and this unit has a stainless steel turntable. The old unit had some sound dampening, but it was never quiet. One had to run water to keep it from sounding like it would self-destruct. While I do not care much about noise, this unit is very quiet. The splash guard mounts deeper than the old one, so it catches more debris before one has to push the food in. This feature is a nice improvement.
The GE brands seem to come out ahead in online reviews. That was a big factor for me.
The only feature that was not an improvement was the mounting ring. The old one had a clamp collar and it performed well. While I first viewed this new mount ring as an improvement, it was aggravating to line up. For the extra 5 minutes that it took me, this is a minor flaw. I am not sorry for my purchase.
