Doesn’t engage and it’s been less than 2 weeks

This was a replacement disposal from GE. The original that the builder installed had died and this was the replacement they sent. When the replacement was working, it was much quieter than the original.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disposal does what it’s supposed to do. There is a minor problem with the black rubber strainer. Just the way this is designed it causes water in sink to not drain instantly, causes air bubble. Easy fix just cut the fingers back a little and now water runs down right away
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does not dispose of food in small quanities efficently. Food has to be assisted during the disposal process.

Hello rtb60 - Thanks for your feedback. Always use a rapid flow of cold water and allow the disposer to run long enough to do a thorough job of grinding the food waste and flushing through each operation.

Super strong and not too loud

I am not a plumber and I was able to install this disposal easily. It seems like it has the power to grind up anything with its 1/2 HP motor and is noticeably more powerful than my 1/3 that died.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is an easy to install unit that doesn't require a lot of time. I was able to find an easy video to follow on YouTube that helped walk me through it.
