Great Unit

I had an other brand before this that had a larger motor, however after reading reviews and discovering the expense and lack of longevity of that model currently, I chose GE. This is my first GE disposal in my lifetime--including my parent's homes. My Father, a former plumbing contractor, suggested this was a good brand when I asked him.
This is a perfect size--we do not put a lot of junk down our disposer so are careful. No problems, self installed,and works like a charm. I am sticking with GE. thanks!

Great product with quiet power!

Great "Newer Model" Disposer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old GE disposer broke a "grinder tooth" for lack of a better word. I looked it up on the GE Parts and Accessories Store and that particular model number didn't exist anymore. Fortunately, the website recommended Model GFC525V as its replacement. I ordered it with next day shipping which was dirt cheap and it arrived the next day! It was fairly easy to install #about an hour or so# and the directions were easy to understand. It has been working for a little over a month now without any issues. It's also quieter than the older model which was a nice surprise. I would recommend this product to anyone that is or will be needing to replace their old GE disposer with this one as long as this disposer is the correct model that you would need. There are many types of GE disposers. Some require being hard wired and some already come with the electrical plug installed so be careful to match the one that needs replacing with the model that GE suggests.
