This will be my 3rd one. First one lasted 15 years. 2nd one lasted 15 months! I didn't want to change the plumbing so bought it again. If this one only last a year or 2 it will be time to try another brand.

Why has the metal portion Corroded?

Poorly made. Why has it corroded less than 2 years after being installed in a new build

We replaced the 28 year old GFC525F, which finally gave out with a new GFC525N. It worked great all those years and we know the replacement will be going long after we are gone!

Highly disappointed.

This unit stopped working within two years, and during those two years it jammed multiple times. I have a single person household with very limited use of the disposal. Despite that it’s constantly jammed. I noticed that most of the comments giving this unit hi rankings focused on the installation and price from new users however, most have the same experience, I have who have had this unit beyond two years, I would never buy it again. I am in the process of replacing and may not consider the same manufacturer.

Easy to install - Great directions

I just installed this garbage disposer. It was very easy to install. The combination of pictures and clearly written directions are much appreciated. We replaced a 20 year old GE unit and hope this one lasts as long. There are brief directions for how to use, and clean the unit. They clearly list the warranty information of one year and how to extend your warranty. It took me about 20 minutes to install. Removing the old unit took more like an hour due to difficulty loosening the sink drain. I found an easy solution by spraying DW 40 on the threads.
I would recommend this to a friend!
