Probably not for a long drain run...

I've used this unit about four times and spent a good 5 hours trying to clear a clog out of my kitchen drain run this week. Yes, the run is very long, but I did not overload the unit, I didn't put anything "stringy" in it, etc etc. I probably won't use it again, so I now have an expensive addition to my sink drain...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

noisey and a lot of vibration

the unit is noisy and slow to pull scraps in to it. The throat is smaller than my previous unit. I really don't like it at all. Am thinking about replacing it even though it is new. Even just running water in the sink is slow to drain.

Runs Smooth but is still fierce

Haven't had any issues. Our old one (which we bought new and only had for 3 years) wouldn't grind the food well enough and we would get clogs in the pipes under the sink. Very annoying. This works much faster and more quietly.

Installed this in the process of updating our kitchen. After two months I can say it is a decent disposall for the money. It is a bit loud and at times louder than others. It has worked fine though with daily use. I bought it b/c of the stainless grind chamber hope that it leads to a long life.
I would recommend this to a friend!
