GE disposers can grind food waste at a rate of 8000 rpms. It is powerful enough to grind chicken bones and small steak bones. A disposer can sound like a blender running or even a small vacuum sweeper. This is normal. I bought this to replace my 13 yr old disposal that stopped working. Got the exact same model upgrade as the old one. Installation was easy and went smoothly for a 72 yr old guy. New one works great.

It's a disposal!

We've been in our home for exactly 50 days. So the expectation that we could give a believable review is questionable.
What I can say is that when I flip the switch, the disposer works. Hurrah!
Please note that we did not choose this product, it was already installed in our new home by the builder.
