It's a disposal!

We've been in our home for exactly 50 days. So the expectation that we could give a believable review is questionable.
What I can say is that when I flip the switch, the disposer works. Hurrah!
Please note that we did not choose this product, it was already installed in our new home by the builder.

This was a replacement for an older model. Replacement was quick and easy. Didn't need to hire a plumber.

I bought this to replace my 13 yr old disposal that stopped working. Got the exact same model upgrade as the old one. Installation was easy and went smoothly for a 72 yr old guy. New one works great.

Slim design fits farm sink with setback drain

We installed a deep single bowl farm sink and the badger disposal was too big diameter and it interfered with existing plumbing. We installed this slimmer designed GE disposal and are very pleased with it. It is smoother and quieter than the one it’s replacing. I would definitely recommend this appliance.

Poor performance

I am extremely disappointed with this unit. The unit came with our new manufactured home we just purchased. We upgraded to the1/2 HP from the 1/4 HP that came standard with the home. This disposal is VERY LOUD and NOISY. It sounds like there is something stuck in it. We searched around inside to make sure there was nothing stuck in there to cause a problem. I could not give this machine a good rating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE disposers can grind food waste at a rate of 8000 rpms. It is powerful enough to grind chicken bones and small steak bones. A disposer can sound like a blender running or even a small vacuum sweeper. This is normal.
