Crumpled sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been paying attention to House of Marley products for a long time. In my opinion, their design is the best one I have ever seen. This speaker has excellent material quality. The battery lasts very long time. There are no problems with connecting, the signal is not lost, the algorithm is quite simple. It is also very cool that you can accidentally forget it on the street in the rain and nothing will happen to her. It should be noted that it is very loud.
The benefits, unfortunately, end there.
Let's move on to the disadvantages.
1) It is quite heavy. It is not very comfortable to take it with you on some long hiking/walking trips. But personally, it doesn't matter to me.
2) The biggest drawback is the SOUND, which overrides all the advantages. I never imagined that I would be so disappointed with the sound of a product whose main task is to reproduce sound! If you listen to simple music with a small number of soundtracks like house, techno - the problem is not very noticeable. But if you turn on ANY rock or metal, or even drum and bass e - everything immediately becomes clear - in the intervals where there is a large palette of frequencies along with low ones - the sound suffocates. Everything merges into mush. it seems that some kind of filter or compressor is turning on (as one of the buyers here or on amazon noted). Feeling like someone is putting a pillow on the speaker. If it cost less, then it would be justified. But at this price, it's completely unacceptable. The same JBL in a similar price segment (flip for example) does not have such problems and sounds amazing.

Conclusion: Extremely disappointed. I do not recommend if the range of genres of music you listen to is not limited to simple music.

Great durable speaker

Very durable… I’ve had this for years and use it intermittently. Works every time. My wife it outside for a month in summer thunderstorms and it still works, sounds as good as new. Can’t beat that for a travel speaker.
I would recommend this to a friend!
