Bosch 800 Series Downdraft Vent.

Gave 4 Stars ..Please be aware that the downdraft vent needs a motor that has to be ordered separately..no one told us this important info..Must say this vent is very quiet..and the telescoping vent variable switch is great..just installed 5/2020

Bummed it has no connectivity to my Bosch Cooktop

So unlike others, i read and understood the fan is additional which is the same for all downdrafts, but my primary complaint is that I have a new bosch cooktop that has home connect and can control a fume hood and turn it on and off automatically when you turn the burners on but bosch doesn't make a downdraft with home connect which is a bummer, I was going to buy something else but it seems no one makes a downdraft with home connect. It would have been really nice to turn on a burned and have this pop up and turn on but instead it works like it is 1995 still, looks nich though!

Do yourself a favor and never get a downdraft...Ever.
If codes in your state allow, have Zero ventilation before you install one of these nightmares in waiting. It will cost you a fortune to replace when it breaks.

Perfect solution!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model down draft ventilation system is the perfect solution for a cooktop in the kitchen island when an overhead vent is not suitable. It works well with my gas cooktop and, unlike the model I replaced, it draws from a higher point so as not to pull the flame away from the pots. It is quiet and easy to use when needed but stores away nicely to maintain a sleek presentation.
