Not all that great
on December 25, 2013

I did not realize company's still used AA batteries in there cameras. With my old camera I could plug it in like a cell phone and simply recharge it. There is also no battery life bar to let you know if the battery is dead. the features are ok on this camera but I am going to return it for a refund.
Pros: excellent image quality, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

20 year Canon user

I have used Canon Cameras for the past 20 years and I have enjoyed the quality and workmanship of their products. I have just purchased the SX 160 IS and it is as usual a very good quality product. The only problem is with the software. The SX 160 software is only compatible with Windows XP and newer operating systems. What about us older citizens who still have Windows 98, 2000, and Millenium? We need image browsers too. Would it cost that much more to write code for these older operating systems. You are a quality manufacturer and should realize that there are a lot of potential customers over 50 that have need of your services and quality products.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good then Bad

Loved the camera at first - especially the 16X Zoom.
Then the Shutter /zoom button fell off. No I have NO ZOOM and I have to use a wooden pick in the button hole to operate the Shutter. AKWARD!

The only canon camera i`ve had that they shouldn`t have made. Don`t get me wrong, loved my other 6 canons/ film and digtal. Auto settings are not very good, which does not matter since 90% of the time i use manual setting.
Pros: Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, small enough to take with anywhere
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Difficult to use, Short battery life, can`t say poor image quality just not good, needs flash indoors most of the time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Huge disappointment
on June 4, 2013

Imagine my disappointment when I presented this camera to my daughter as a graduation gift this afternoon and all we see on the screen is "snow". It's broken. I am beyond angry.
I actually purchased the camera in December as a Christmas gift, but decided to get her a laptop for Christmas and save the camera for graduation. It's been in its original packaging, never touched. We put the batteries in, turned it on, set the date (that part works) but there is nothing but "snow" on the
on the screen. Hope I can get a replacement or my money back (since I'm not sure I want another.).
Cons: doesn't take pictures.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Non of my friends do not use this service either, they say they don't like not being able to enter Windows Life Mail, why can't I send my photos thruyahoo mail like everything else that I use???
