Much better then doing dishes by hand!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our dishwasher! It is so much better then doing them all by hand. It does have one downfall. There are times when the dishes do not get all clean. Not sure if its my detergent or the dishwasher though. Overall it was money well spent.

Very average dishwasher

This is a portable dishwasher, so I had limited choices. I have found that I have to wash dishes before loading (unlike my old dishwasher). The cycle takes close to an hour to complete, not a big problem, but seems long. I like that the top shelf is removable, to facilitate big items. The noise level is fairly high, including loud clicks? The bottom rack is well set up for loading, and holds many plates. Unfortunalely, the "slots" on the top shelf are too narrow for my cereal bowls, so I cannot load so many. The sides of the top rack are also too narrow for glasses and coffee mugs. On the whole I am not so happy with the dishwasher, but I think it is the best of the portables.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No inside view

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The display should show you an inside veiw. I had no idea the rack system was designed so poorly. No room for many dishes. The top rack is bad also. Bowls do not fit well. I think GE needs to hit the drawing board again and redesign the racks. The silverware basket takes up too much room. The machine is not too noisy but I have only had it a short time. Look around before you make a choice. I was really expecting better from GE

8 repairs in 3 years!

Portable machines are very limited. I thought I would be getting a reliable machine with a GE product. Well... I have had the this dishwasher repaired at least 8 times! We ALWAYS rinse ALL of our dishes before putting in dishwasher and it still gets clogs in it. The tiny tiny tube they use to drain the used water is so small that ANYTHING will get stuck in it and then you end up with a dishwater full of water that is unusable for a week until repair person comes. Also, the hose that connects to the faucet, has been replaced twice. Now, the new hose will not retract into the unit fully and sticks out halfway and you can see it all the time. Our dishes seem to be a little cleaner since we changed to Finish dish soap. If you are going to get this machine, GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY... you are going to need it!
