Water damage

They say you can use it for swimming, after less than one year of use my watch screen went dark and wouldn't respond. Took it for warranty service and they said it is out of warranty due to water damage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH

The actual function of this watch is great - I upgraded to this watch from the original Samsung Gear Sport for a reason. HOWEVER - This is the 2nd time (fool me twice, right?) that the back cover of the watch, covering the HR monitor, has come unglued and detached from the watch. That's right - the watch that I paid close to $400 for, and is literally made to be sweat on and potentially used underwater is put together with ADHESIVE, that will ultimately break down over time. This happened with my original Samsung watch and it was out of warranty so I moved on and purchased this watch, thinking they must have learned from their mistakes because the back of this watch appeared to be much more solid. Nope, 9 months into ownership the back of the watch comes off. I contact Samsung support thinking it shouldn't be a problem as I am still under warranty. Once I get a hold of someone, they tell me that the damage is "esthetic" and will therefore not be covered - if I want the watch fixed I would have to pay for it out of pocket. ESTHETIC?? I was under the impression that the back of the watch was integral to the function of the watch itself but apparently not according to Samsung. I did a lot of research online and found all sorts of horror stories along the same line as my own, along with some that were told their watch would be repaired and then Samsung billed their credit cards hundreds of dollars, claiming "water damage" etc. Anywho, me and my crazy glued $400 watch are going to go buy a Garmin and maybe switch my phone to a Google while I'm at it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Smartwatch I've Ever Had

For comparison, I have owned 2 Apple watches, including the Gen 4, and have also owned the latest Galaxy watch. This is the best smartwatch I have ever used. I find it extremely attractive and easy to use. It's a very close comparison to the Apple Watch only edging it out by its excellent sleep tracker, the vast array of watch faces and the sound quality. The only negative I can say is that my first one had to be exchanged because the battery wouldn't charge to a full 100% after a couple of weeks. Eventually only going to 85%. The second one charges properly.

The best Android watch of 2019

The Highlights: Incredibly comfortable Excellent battery life Large Selection of faces and apps Wireless charging Good heart rate monitor Samsung Pay
This is the watch that I was waiting to be produced for the past 3 years. It is a nearly flawless watch and one that gets people's attention at work. It is not true Wear OS which means you cannot control Youtube or other media on your phone out of the box, but that is literally the only complaint I would make about it. You will love this watch the second you put it on.

Okay for Samsung apps and health tracking

I used this watch over a period of time and found myself always feeling antiquated in terms of what it can do compared to the iwatch that my wife has. If you only use Samsung apps then you may feel this is not a big deal... However many android users want Google messages, google assistant and a normal Gmail app on the phone. Not too much to ask for. Long story short... Hardware wise it's awesome HOWEVER software wise it's lacking.

I purchased online and waited 2 weeks. For the most part it functions as designed except the heart monitor does not wok most of the time. Get message to clean monitor which has been done.
