Cooks great but extra features are lacking

Good things: induction stove top is great. Cooks very quickly.
Oven seems to be accurate
Silly things
The slide out rack in the oven is not useful enough. GE should save the $ and remove it.
Scan your cook feature. Don’t ever see a need for this since I don’t ever have an ingredient that is scannable
The SmartHQ app is buggy and terrible. It took a number of tries to get it to connect to the stove. Now that it is Connected it drops off and quits often.
The in oven camera has worked once and now I can’t get it to display in the app. I’ll probably turn the wifi feature off completely now since there are no other features I need.
There should be arrows to raise and lower the oven temp a few degrees instead of typing in the new temp.

I'm writing this review 14 months after purchase and less than a year after install.The look and feel is great, but all of a sudden the induction burners stopped working. We've changed nothing about how we use the range, it simply stopped functioning. Now, we wait for GE service to diagnose our issue and that will be 2 days from today. Research online says it may be a built in protection for the range when it gets "overheated". This is BS. Like I said, we haven't changed any methods in our cooking. We've followed the reset instructions and it worked for the morning but by evening no luck. Currently, only a year into this purchase i have regrets. I had high hopes as GE has a good reputation. If you're thinking about this range, be sure to buy the service warranty. You may need it, or just get something else. I'm so mad right now. We got a lemon.

Great appliance!

After many years of cooking exclusively with gas, we recently replaced our aging gas stove with this Café induction range and couldn’t be happier with the decision. Induction heats pans incredibly fast, is just as responsive as gas when raising or lowering the temperature, and much better than gas at maintaining a steady simmer. We haven’t yet tried the precision cooking function or the air fryer, but we’ve found cooking on the induction burners to be superior to gas in every way. The SmartHQ app was easy to set up and it’s very convenient to be able to pre-heat the oven remotely. The appliance also looks great and is a lot easier to keep clean than a gas range.
We found that making the switch from gas to induction didn’t require much of an adjustment. I think it would be a bigger adjustment to switch from a traditional radiant heating electric range to induction. The main thing is to know is that if you start out with the burner on high, the pan will get very hot very quickly, so it’s best to begin with a lower setting when doing things like shallow frying. And don’t walk away thinking that it will take a while for the pan to pre-heat. I always thought gas was best, but I continue to be amazed at the speed and precision of induction.
Some other users have complained about buzzing sounds or high-pitched humming, but we have decent quality cookware and haven’t found this to be an issue. My only complaint so far is a minor issue that others have also noted. The sound of the timer (even when set to the highest volume) is so low that you can barely hear it unless you’re standing right next to the range and there isn’t much background noise. I don’t understand why it was designed this way.

Beautiful with Great Features!

I love my induction range! It was painless to switch from gas ranges I had used in the past. It’s very pretty, and I had a lot of fun playing with new options such as the camera in the oven. It feels very upscale and it makes my kitchen look fresh.

Absolutely love this range! The design,the functionality is beyond words. This is our second induction range. The first did not compare to this one at all. It looks fantastic in my kitchen and heats up so fast. The oven is accurate in temperature too

Just two negatives. Stove cannot be lowered to 35.75 height to match countertop. No printed instruction manual.

Issues with range after 1st year of ownership

Love it when it actually works........
We love our Cafe Induction stove when it's working. The first issue that happened was a front burner stopped working. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that the back middle burner was slightly warm without anything on the burner. My husband turned the burner on and there was a loud pop and a very bright spark and the entire stove is now dead. Long story short - if you buy this, get the extended warranty and a hot plate.

custom service is the worst

Had it for 30 days now, still trying to get connected to Wi-Fi the unit will not connect to appliances GE cloud and can not use all my features really disappointed in GE this range is not cheap Cafe CHS90XP2MS1,I have contacted GE SmartHQ 4x no one has gotten back to me :(
