Excellent gate for strong toddler
on July 1, 2024
Posted by: Anonymous
Our 1-year-old loves walking around the house and trying to go up and down every step constantly. We have a permanent metal gate at the top of the stairs, but were using a wooden fold-up gate at the bottom. It worked while he was crawling, but once he started walking he figured out how to pull it down easily no matter what MacGyver techniques we tried to attach it to the stairwell. This Everywhere Gate was the perfect solution. It is extremely sturdy and the neutral color helps it blend well with any decor. We can open and close it easily, but it is strong enough to withstand all toddler attempts to get through. Hooray for no more stress at the base of the stairs!

The gate came ready to install right out of the box! The instructions were clear and it was really easy to install on the top of our stairs.

Great Gate!

We have a 4-level-split house, so strong, reliable gates is a must in our house! We have tried many different style gates and the new Everywhere Gate is my favorite! The easy to adjust tabs ensured that we got a tight, strong fit (which my son quickly tested by standing on it shortly after we got it installed). It fully expands the entire width of the doorway without having to add on any extension parts. We love that there's no bottom lip to worry about tripping over (especially my parents and grandparents when they come visit), and my son loves that he can still easily drive his cars etc through when the gate is open. Compared to other gates that we own, one big pro is that this gate doesn't narrow the walking space, since it mounts right to the door jambs - no annoying screw in disks that you can never remember which way to turn, or that come loose and slip along the wall. Lastly, the ease of opening with one hand - but tricky enough that my 2 year old can't figure it out-is well constructed. Bonus - the gate swings both ways! The only small con is that you do need to mount it to the wall using screws (which are included), so if you aren't wanting to put holes in your wall, this wouldn't be an ideal design. They are super small though and would be easy to fill/patch later. Would definitely buy this gate again!

I wanted to love this

What drew me to this gate was that it specifically said it could be mounted to drywall and that there were no anchors needed. However it's been 5 days and only myself and my husband have touched the gate and all but one of the screws came out of the drywall. It was also not as easy as it says to install. Yes, the installation per the directions was quite easy, but something must have been off with the guides on mine (the guides are really like cardboard boxes) because after it was installed it did not close right. I needed to undo everything I did on one side and put more holes in the wall. Now I can't even use the gate and have ended up with many large holes. I'm extremely disappointed and wish I had listened to the reviews that warned about this.

Great Basic Gate
on July 1, 2024

This is a simple looking, sturdy gate that is effective at keeping little crawlers from ascending the steps unsupervised. I didn't love that I had to use a screw into my drywall- this is fine if I can patch and paint over it but I wasn't able to use the gate where I originally intended to because I wasn't willing to screw a hole into my wood bannister leading to the stairs. I realize that securing the gate with a screw is probably the safest option- it is a hard option. Gate was preassembled and ready to go- way less fuss than other gates I use.

I would NOT recommend this gate.

I would NOT recommend this gate to anyone. Operation of the gate is the most difficult thing ever. The slide and push mechanisms (spring actions) are very stiff and do not work. Unless you have another access out of the room you are trapped. I would consider this product a safety hazard and think it should be recalled by the Product Safety Commission.

Gate does not work in drywall
on July 1, 2024
Posted by: now we need a new gate and wall repairs
What drew me to this gate was that it specifically said it would work in drywall. After less than a week on use (without the kids present, so no climbing or standing on it) the drywall screws have all come loose on the gate side. It works well, as long as you have not intention of ever opening it. If you do want to use it as a gate, I would strongly recommend you look somewhere else. At best, this buys you a couple weeks of use and a wall left behind as a mess. Don't buy
