Not worth the $$

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a really good looking addition to our kitchen but not really pleased overall. The uooer unit microwave is only 950 watts and coming from 1100 I had is real step down as far as cooking times.
The digital clock on it goes from bright to very dim (I have on brightness 3 setting) to point you can't read it. I asked Bosch about it and reply was energy saving issue. Might cost couple cents a year to have on bright all the time. Need to reengineer the "feature" Next the lower unit convection oven is not heating properly so I already got technician coming out to look at convection oven. Took six months to get unit and been installed less than a month.

Beautiful & Functional

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look and feel of these appliances. They were backordered for 9 months but so far are worth the wait. I haven't used every single function on themyet but what I have used has been even heating/cooking. The oven (bottom) is wi-fi enabled. It's not a necessity but you can control/shut it off from your phone if you are in a meeting and can't step away. Or preheat it while you are on your way home with a take and bake pizza. Nice feature. The stainless steel isn't finger print resistant but it does clean up easy and always looks great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

not well-integrated

I've had this oven for a few months how. Bottom oven and top oven have two completely separate sets of controls; I don't like that, but realize that's probably the most efficient way for Bosch to make and sell this "combo" oven product.
Worse than not having integrated controls, there is total inconsistency between the top and bottom ovens. The interfaces look very similar, but function completely differently in ways that continually cause irritation for a new owner.

Some major annoyances:
1. I set the time on the bottom oven using 24hr time, as is my preference. Then I go to set the time on the top and realize it has no option for 24hr time. ...so the two displays each display the time differently - dumb! ...and why am I having to set the time twice for a "single appliance" anyway?!?
2. Bottom oven has "smart" controls via the Bosch app, aka Home Connect. I think: it maybe useful occasionally for pre-heating, checking if I left the oven on, etc. However, the top oven has no support for this whatsoever. Really dumb in my opinion for them to go to the trouble of building Home Connect in, but only for one of the two ovens.
3. I go to use the "warming" feature of the upper oven. Strangely, I can turn it on and off, but I can't see a way to put it on a timer. Of course, they must provide that basic capability, right? nope. no timer function for the "oven" features (aside from microwave, that is) on the upper oven - basically you can turn it on and turn it off, but not put it on a timer. Same applies when using the upper convection oven. Doh! This single non-feature (had I known about it before buying) would have been enough to make me NOT buy this unit - I can't believe how dumb it is to have an oven with an elaborate touch-panel and electronic controls and not implement such a simple feature as a TIMER!! My little countertop toaster oven has this feature! Come on, guys.

These obvious design flaws or oversights or whatever you want to call them are disappointing because the overall look and quality of finish and materials on the product seems pretty good otherwise.

800 Series Combo Oven

Overall this is a very good combination oven and microwave. We like that the oven pre-heats quickly, and the controls are easy to use. I also like the WiFi feauture that allows for updates to the equipment. My only complaint would be that the clock display on the microwave goes dim, and you have to hit "clock" to get it to brighten. It would be helpful it the display could be brightened or dimmed and left that way.

BOSCH Kitchen appliances

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All appliances working well; did have technician come to check out oven 'bake' position which was tripping an error message, but resolved when technician was here. Dishwasher is very quiet and VERY happy with refrigerator..love the design, no handles!
