Good flash drive with a beautiful design.

Bought this drive as a replacement for another aluminium drive which got damaged. Drive still works but the aluminium started tearing on the top (where the open hole is). I am a bit worried this will happen to this drive as well, sooner or later.
Of course, generally speaking, an aluminium drive is more rigid than a plastic one which makes these drives great for carrying around i.e. on your key chain.
What I've noticed is the drive runs very hot during transfers. Luckily the aluminium helps dissipate the heat better than other materials but still... it gets pretty hot!
Thanks to the USB 3.0 interface you can get fast data transfers.
Although mine doesn't seem to be 'lightning fast'. A 2 GB file took about a minute and a half at a rate of about 15-17MB/s. Same speed for smaller files i.e. pictures.
Not bad but no world records there. And this was on a USB 3.1 port.
The price is good. I've bought the 64GB model as I don't really need more. I only use it occasionally for taking files with me on the go.
The drive comes with free SanDisk Secure Access software. With this, you can store your files safely in 'a vault'. In case you lose it, no one will be able to access your files. It encrypts your data with 128 bit.
Make sure you choose a good password which you'll remember as password forgotten means no access to your files. The drive can still be formatted though.
All in all, at this price, you get a decent drive with great build quality and a pretty looking design.
It's very handy to take with you, especially on a key chain.
Speeds are okay but won't break any world records.
