Flintstones, meet the Flintstones...

This is a fun set. They really got it right except for one thing. Where is Dino? Anyone 7 and up can build it in no time. I hope to see more cartoon sets in the future. The Disney castle is amazing too, but we need more buildings and rides from Disneyworld to go with it

Great set but screwed up by not having Dino. He was a big part and should've been part of the set. To me it was a big let down not having him included.

Disappointed

I was disappointed with this set. There is so much LEGO could have done with it. Like Dino, a bigger and more detailed house (Wilma’s elephant faucet) and Pebbles and Bam Bam. But I did like the car.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very excited to see this set, however wondering where Dino is? Pebbles? Bam-bam? Maybe that will come out with later sets?

Though a great, fun build.... its missing some attributes I feel would have made it better. Pebbles, Bam Bam, Dino, Kazoo, etc. That aside, still love it!

This is a good set. The build of the Flintmobile is first and fun, highly detailed. Even the “ribs” are included from the end credits. The house is a fun build too, and the detail is very well done – just like I remember from the TV Show. The TV is well done and I like the touch of the picture tube at the back. The interior even has the tiger-skin drapes and the mastodon painting.
There are some downsides, however. No Pebbles or Bam-Bam, and Dino is shown only on the TV. Also, the Flintmobile does not allow the occupants to put their feet through (through the courtesy of Fred’s two feet). Also, Barney is too tall and teen legs could easily have been substituted. Also, for trivia fans, Wilma’s maiden name is not Slaghoopal. Her Mother’s name was that, but she remarried. When Wilma meets an old flame in “Fred Flintstone Woos Again” he refers to her as “Wilma Pebble”.
Nit-picking, yes.
I still endorse the set and encourage all who love The Flintstones and LEGO to get this set.

Great set, but can be much better!

This set is truly amazing, but I honestly feel they should’ve made the heads like they did with the Simpsons as well as Toy Story by creating special molds for them.
I feel cartoon characters need to have special molded heads Like they did for the Simpsons heads and Toy Story which were designed extremely well! Many fans for the Simpson figures as well as Toy Story that love the head sculpted designs wanted that same design for this Flintstones set and the characters included were not done very well.
For one, Barney should have got the shorter new movable teen legs that the Harry potter figs now have. The Flintsones heads definitely should’ve been done the same as the Simpsons heads! Big miss!
Also, the set really should’ve included DINO as well as the BEDROCK sign And also the floor boards on the car should be open so Fred’s feet should have the effect of touching the ground like in the show. Animal appliances, where are they LEGO??
LEGO should have not made changes to exclude Bam Bam, Pebbles and Dino...
TO LEGO, if the fans voted 10k to want the set including Dino, Bam Bam and Pebbles then why would you exclude them from the set makes no sense and just like the Steam Boat willie set coming April 1st is $90 many would have paid more then $60 for the Flintstones set if you just kept in those figures you decided to take away to save on cost that collectors would have paid more 100% for those characters included! Bad move LEGO...
This set was made for Nostalgia collectors and you removed very important characters that were voted for by the fans and you should have listened to US THE FANS THAT SUPPORT YOU more then an average customer! Putting DINO on the TV is not good enough!!!!
Other than that the set is epic and I love it still! Imagine a Nice head scultp for the Flintstone characters like the Amazing Simpson figures as well as Toy Story style is and how iconic Freds face is with his big nose would be amazing with a sculpted mold.
How great would it be to see a NEWLY sculpted well made DINO with movable arms, rotable head like the New dinosaur scuplts on the market now. The figures they have in this Flintstone set are whack especially, how they have like an outline where his nose can be, but really no nose??? These official Lego heads released with the Flintstones set are whack compared to if you made sculpted heads.
All the Flintstones characters each have a unique head to them and it was a huge miss not to do it like the Simpsons or Toy Story characters!
Yes, obviously sclupted heads would drive up the cost, but LEGO can then make an excuse to re-use those heads in future Flintsone sets to give us more from the caveman Iconic cartoon series... Give us all of Bedrock! (Bowling Alley) etc....
Give us the character the Great Gazoo with a small body and big sclupted head in a future set please!!!!
Give the Flintstones Justice by releasing them with sclupted heads!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Missed opportunity

While the house and minifigures make for a decent display, that is really the best that can be said about this set. The car is a huge miss, without even a way to put the minifigures feet through the bottom and serious proportion issues. The set looks good closed and from the front, but when opened it is really lacking. The nod to bowling, which was featured from the first Flintstones episode, is i nice idea, but my 7 year old has made much more convincing pins. Since the Lego Movie II it seems that mixing Friends style minifigures and standard minifigures should no longer be taboo, and Wilma and Betty really should have been done in the Friends style since their physiques are so radically different from Fred and Barney. Lastly, at a time when Lego has multiple Jurassic Park sets out, as well as dinosaurs featured in the latest Lego Movie, the addition of a dinosaur or two to the Flintstones set does not seem as though it would be that hard to do. If anything, it would even make a great excuse to develop a brontosaurus model that can cross over with Jurassic Park. This set is not horrible, but it is underwhelming on almost every level. A 3 star review would not be horrible for most items, but this is really the first Lego set that I have ever bought, especially an Ideas set, that was disappointing.
