GAME CHANGER

I live in a rural area and my previous connection just wasn’t cutting it. Read up on tri-band mesh routers and figured I’d give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did! For reference, before I got the Orbi system I was only getting 30Mbps. After a very short set-up I was surprised to see that I’m now getting 300 Mbps!!! Additionally, the Ethernet back haul on the satellite is a life-saver! I’m so glad I was able to purchase this!

Great for apartments and houses alike

I originally bought the Orbi because I lived in an apartment complex that had about 50 different wireless access points that were broadcasting around my apartment. By the time I got halfway across my apartment the wifi signal was dismal and constantly cutting out. I picked the Orbi because it did not use a wifi signal to talk to the satellite stations and because it offered 2.4 and 5ghz wifi options. The ability to use a guest network was a plus, but not necessary for us at the time. Now, I have moved to a house and the regular wifi signal is not able to easily penetrate the floor or the thick walls, but by placing the satellite downstairs, the wifi signal is usable throughout the entire house and garage.

So far it’s running well. The only hiccup we have had so far is some devices are on 5G WiFi and some 2.4G, but we have not found a way to assign which devices connect to which so some important devices are running slower on 2.4G while simple lower priority devices are on 5G.
