My best friend Orbi

I was always an Apple router user until we moved into our new home. I purchased five WiFi extenders from Apple and nothing worked I would have service in one room and the rest of the house wasn't working at all. I went to the store and the gentleman recommended the Orbi to me and told me to get an additional satellite at first I was hesitant as I was faithful to Apple and their products but then I caved I caved in an I'm happy I did. The Orbi works like a charm I now have WiFi wherever I need it. I am finally able to enjoy all of my devices. Thank you netgear for this wonderful creation named Orbi.

Great system for difficult coverage areas

Upgraded from an older router that worked decently if you were close to it, but we wanted wifi coverage in the basement, upstairs and outside. Parts of the house have fairly thick brick walls, and while the home isn't huge, it makes it hard to get a decent signal in some parts. I bought this mainly for the ethernet backhaul capability, and it works great. The router and satellite don't have a great wifi connection to each other because of the building material, but when connected by ethernet, I am seeing great coverage in the whole home that is 2-3 times as fast as my previous router. Worth the cost.

Easy Setup, Great Coverage

I decided to upgrade to a mesh network system during a hectic relocation to a new home. I didn't want a lot of hassle - just easy setup so that I could check this item off and move to the next item on my todo list. I did a good bit of investigation of wireless network systems while planning my move, and chose this system. It did not disappoint. Setup was a breeze. It allows multiple options for setup for those of us who are starting up all of our communication system components from scratch. The system also provides consistent, reliable coverage to my home. I'm very happy that I chose this system.

Excellent Coverage

This is the first mesh system. My home is an H one story 3900 sf. The system is 2 Orbi (Router + satellite)/ Coverage is excellent throughout the house and back patio. Set-up was easy. Having three ethernet ports was a must as I have a central area for several devices and they can be wire connected right at the router. The software could be better as the network map only shows the router and satellite. Additionally, one needs to dig the IP addresses of each connected device and then edit the entries for each device with a descriptive name. I have been running the system for 5 days and so far so wonderful.

We have a long List shaped house. I use to have two routers which meant dropping one and connecting with the other depending on where you were. We also had spotty coverage. With the orbi I can be anywhere in the house and stay on the same network and the signal is stinger than one of the routers I replaced. We now have 3 Google chrome devices and every one is able to stream different shows at different locations. Last night my daughter had 8 of her friends over and all of them were on the orbi while three Chromecast devices were in the basketball game! The system is expensive but wow for performance!

Great system

I have a 2400 sq ft home with many walls. My old setup was a an ISP provided modem/router which was installed in one end of the house. I had an Ethernet over powerline system which was plugged into an old router I had. The best speed I could get in that end of the house was about 4 mbs upload with my plan being 150 mbs. At any rate, I purchased the Netgear CM700 modem and the Orbi system. Setup was a bit tricky but not too bad. Now I am getting constant speeds of ~140 to 150 mbs from a single SSID. I highly recommend this system for anyone looking for a simple reliable solution for whole home WiFi coverage.

fixed all of our WiFi issues

Prior to setting up Orbi, in the span of 5 days I got 57 alerts from my outdoor Nest camera saying it was offline (power was not interrupted so this was an indication of WiFi connectivity problems). After setting up Orbi (base unit + 1 satellite), I went for 17 days without a single alert. It's game-changing. Very easy to setup and manage. Works great streaming content within the network as well as bridging to the Internet. It deftly manages ~ 2 dozen IOT appliances (smart switches, Echos, cameras, ) 8 media devices (Roku, AppleTV, Sonos), and ~ 8 personal devices (phones, tablets, laptops). Two big thumbs up.

OK, I'm a Mac user and have been for 25 years. I'd always used Mac products for their ease of setup and rock solid performance so I'd used Apple Airport Extremes for years. Well, it finally happened...my last Airport finally bit the dust. Since Apple no longer makes them, I was tasked with finding a wireless system that not only worked well but also was easy to set up for a Mac user. I did my research and picked the Orbi after reading many positive reviews. Guess what? IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY and I could not be more pleased. Mac users, consider this system when you need one, it simply will not disappoint, period.
