Orbi Mesh Home

The system works great. Set-up was a bit uncomfortable. My only problem is/was knowing when the satellites were connected to the base station. Yes, the ring light on top turned blue the first time. But then I had to reset the system to move the power cords, and then tried to re-sync and never saw the blue light again. So I went to the app, then to network map. The screen showed the base unit connected to both satellites. So, guess it all worked, but it still leaves me a bit uneasy. It would be nice to have a 'Test' button that sends a signal to each satellite to verify that a connection exists.

Orbi... the mesh WiFi system that just works!

I've owned my fair share of high-end wireless routers in my day; ranging from Apple's Airport Extreme, to Google's OnHub, and even their Google Wifi. The problem with these is the shear number of devices I am connecting just places a huge burden on any wireless router. However, the Orbi is the exception!!! With its dedicated channel for the router and satellites to communicate, plus the 4 Ethernet ports in router and satellite, this mesh system just blazes along. Couple all of that with easy setup via the app, and you've got the best money I've ever spent and best WiFi coverage my home has ever had.

Great product

I got this system to finally upgrade my aging Airport Express and AirPort Extreme setup that I've had for the past ten years. This system has been amazing so far. In the farthest corners of my house (about 2,600 sq ft) where I was only getting 20-30 Mb with my old system I now never drop below 150 Mb. The setup was easy as well with the app just telling you step by step what to do. Also a side note for people with Fios. You can set this up as a router and have your own private network behind it. I know some systems make you turn it into an AP to work with Fios but this works as a router perfectly.

I bought the Orbi AC3000 along with a NAS hard drive to replace a 10 year old Apple Time Capsule. The setup a week ago using the Quick Start Guide went very smoothly. The NetGear Orbi app for the iPhone is also easy to use. I have an iMac and a Brother printer attached to the router via Ethernet. The NAS drive is attached to the satellite via Ethernet. I use a MacBook Pro laptop on the WiFi network. The Time Machine backups for both systems are working well and I'm happy with the network performance. I also successfully created a guest network for my friends to use. I recommend this excellent product.

Works and it's fast!

I have a two story home and I was tired of having a spotty connection. Got an Orbi with two satellites to get rid of connection woes.
Setup - Orbi in front of the house. One in the back part of the house and 3rd one in office upstairs.
Now I have wifi in all 8000 sqft of my property which is great when I am picking my destination on google maps in the driveway!
Bonus was the network connectivity between the satellite and the main router is really fast. I had two devices connected via ethernet and ran iperf to nearly max out the ethernet port (80%+) with my setup above. I highly suggest Orbi.

Just what we needed

Our Apple router has been performing poorly for months, but I have been hesitant to replace it, as I feared the network would be difficult for this non-techie person to set up. The process was actually quick and easily managed. I chose to set up with a desktop rather than a phone app. Both the router and the satellite were up and running within 30 minutes, though it did take a couple of attempts to sync the satellite. Since I used the same name and password of the previous network, all other computers were able to login immediately. We did have to reset the network on our Visio tv. No more gaps in WiFi!

Way beyond expectations

Living in a 3000+ SqFt single story ranch WiFi was spotty to say the least. After lots of research I decided to pull the trigger on the Orbi. Price point is a little higher than some mesh systems on the market, but you get what you pay for. Setup was simple and when it came on line, i was blown away! There is not a section of my house that I don't get 130Mbps+ of download speed. All my media is streaming, and half are connected wireless. This system rocks! I can even go to my mailbox 180' from the house and have full signal. So far I cant find a negative thing to say about the system. Highly recommend.

The Range I've Always Wanted!

I've tolerated a weak WiFi signal for a long time, thinking that the Orbi and other mesh network systems were overly expensive. I finally caved and I'm glad I did, as the performance exceeds my expectations.
WiFi connections to the satellite are incredibly fast, transferring at practically the same speed as a wired connection. I have 100/10 mbps internet, and speed tests when connected to the satellite WiFi can exceed those numbers, and maintain a pint of 11ms.
The inclusion of ethernet ports on the satellite is great, and I'd be perfectly comfortable treating that as stable as a wired connection.
