Downloaded the Orbi app and the system installed itself flawlessly to Netgear CM1100 modem. I live in a 100 y/o old house with lathe and plaster walls - dead spot issues galore with both 4G and my previous WiFi router. Problem solved with Orbi. Streaming to multiple devices and WiFi calling are perfect throughout the house, and no drops with my NestCam on detached garage. Love being able to connect ethernet to the satellites. Also am liking the additional layer of security with Armor / BitDefender.

Sanity Saver

This has been one of the best investments I have made in a long time. I have a very large family, 4 adult kids + spouses = 13 grandkids. When we are all here I was having problems keeping everything and everyone connected. Forget speeds even on a gigabit connection. I was at my wits end. I also work from home. I can now do my job, connect the tablets and phones and gaming systems and be done. Not only am I done I have enough speed to really get my work done too. It really has saved my sanity.

Works great and easy setup

The Orbi system coverage is great. My prior system used power line extenders and had issues where wireless devices would try to stay connected to weak signals instead of moving to stronger WAPs.The use of a single SSID (instead of separate 2.4 and 5GHz SSIDs) makes it easier to connect and stay connected. The speeds are fast at all points in the house now. I replaced the power line adapter with the wireless back-haul on the Orbi and the speed on the second floor is just as fast throughout the house.

No More Dead Zones

Purchased this because we were having issues with WiFi on our top floor with our router in the basement. We tried hardwiring an AP in and a range extender but neither were great solutions because the AP's performance was poor and the extender forced using another SSID. Using Orbi not only eliminated those issues and got coverage to our top floor but now we use the 5GHz band everywhere (all on the same SSID) so our speed is faster along with wider coverage. It has really improved our WiFi experience.

Best for mid-size / 2 story

After trial and error for the past 2/3 years with different routers ( Netgear nighthawk's , Linksy's & extenders) I could never really satisfy the needs of devices in my 2300 sqft home. Finally RBK50 did the trick for me. Best by far! If you're still indecisive over Orbi or Velop maybe this will help.
Orbi- tried and true Daisy chain system/raw power
Velop- dedicated band for a smooth interaction with each node.( not what I was looking for) somewhat slow at full use with all devices.

Easy and Effective

We've struggled with dead spots for years in our home. A techie friend recommended we get a mesh WiFi system. We did some research and kept coming back to the Orbi. That was a great decision. I was able to set it up myself easily and we were up and running with no dead spots in less than an hour. The only reason it took that long was because I couldn't get the 2nd satellite to sync right away'”ended up that I just wasn't being patient enough'”it just needed a little time. Great purchase

Great for our dense apartment building!

We live in an New York City apartment building (VERY crowded Wifi traffic), and had already upgraded to a stronger router to cover our whole 1-bedroom apartment. That router did pretty well but still not consistent. The Orbi is amazing -- I set up the main one in the corner of the cabinet, and the satellite in the FAR corner of the apartment (where normally it's hard to get any signal) -- and they established a strong connection between the two!! So now we have great wifi over the whole apartment.

Perfect solution

I purchased Orbi because I had spotty WiFi coverage (even using 2 range extenders) in my 5,000+ sqft home. Orbi reaches the furthest points In my home with a strong signal. I can now watch HD TV in my basement and even get a good signal in my backyard. My home is 100 years old, but Orbi has no trouble going through plaster and even concrete. I suggested Orbi to a few friends and they all agree that it is a great product. Installation was easy and only took 10 minutes. It really is a perfect solution.
