Great Performance!

I just moved into a newer, larger home with a different internet access carrier (was Comcast, now Spectrum). I had a Netgear R7000 AC 1900 router in my previous home and it was great, but I needed more coverage in my new home. The RBK50 AC 3000 system is impressive. The router and (one) satellite covers the entire house. I have a full signal in every room. The satellite is in my son's bedroom and his PC is connected with an ethernet cable which is a great feature. The only feature I'd like to see added is the ability to select 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz. Right now, the system decides and there's no way to change it. However, based on the system's overall dependability and performance, I don't find that it's a critical omission. All in all a wonderful system that hasn't skipped a beat yet. 5 Ghz download speed is consistently over 100 Mbps.

Speed, Security and Elegance

I had been using an outdated Apple router and needed an upgrade so that all new iPhones and iPads and Macs could all connect in our home-based business. After doing the research, I was a bit skeptical of spending a lot of money on a new router. However, all of the reviews were great and so I decided to invest in the Orbi system. Setup was super fast and easy. It only took less than 30 minutes and my new wifi system was fully functional. My wifi speeds are now super-fast. I needed to have more than one wifi port to connect peripheral devices and the Orbi has that. I needed speed, and Orbi has that. I needed a secure network and Orbi provided that too. I needed something that looked nice and Orbi has that. There is nothing I can find wrong with the system. It was well worth the investment and I look forward to years of great service.

Problem solver

Replaced my ISP's dual-band with an Orbi RBR50 with one satellite. I have a lot of devices in my home and there were constant issues with contention, disconnection, and being forced to manually switch between bands. The Orbi fixed all of that and I now have much better coverage throughout my home without any of the hiccups! I love it and can't recommend it highly enough. I thought that the Circle integration would be important but then realized that, as a parental control system, it's only applicable to devices that are connected to the network and my smart home devices are really just unmanaged nodes. In the end I turned off the Circle integration. I also found the orbi web UI much more capable, and important than the app. The app is great for simple things but the real implementation/configuration is done through the web UI.

Super easy and fast

I've been paying for High Speed internet service for a long time, so long that, like an old car gets progressively worse but you don't notice it, my router was slowing down my connection to a crawl. I recently 'cut the cord' and dropped cable, leaving only the 'fast' internet to stream movies with. When that obviously wasn't going to work, I read reviews on a new mesh system and found Orbi to be a good choice. I upgraded to a three unit system and within 20 minutes of taking it out of the box, had the old router out, the new Orbi system in and running. The signal is awesome throughout the home and the yard and speeds are topping 175MB/s whereas before I was lucky to be recording 30MB/s on the Comcast Speed test app.
Easy to set up and now the kids can stream, do homework and everyone is happy. Thanks for a great product!

Great throughput in apartment with THICK walls

I used to use a Netgear R6400 in my 1br apartment in NYC which worked beautifully, however I recently moved to a larger place and found myself with two dead spots. With the ISP's device in my living room, a thick wall really hurt the 5ghz signal to my bedroom and office (2.4gz actually carried better) even though my total interior space is around 1200sqft. The old router struggled to provide 40-85Mb throughput, which isn't even enough to make full use of my 100/100mb internet connection.I got the orbi setup and paired in about 5 minutes, and after a couple of tries to find the optimal room for the satellite, I was delighted to see 800+Mb connectivity reported by the connection manager. Additional testing with jperf showed speed from my office to a device wired into the router at around 650Mb. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Strong signal and fast

I tried Google wifi first and returned it to get the Orbi. It was night and day difference. I get a solid zignal with vert high speed everywhere throughout my house with Orbi, which I did not get with Google wifi. I have a 5000 square foot house and my Google fiber line comes in my basement, which is where the Orbi router is. I put the satelite in my kitchen. I get neae 100mbps speeds in every corner of my house. I have a poolhouse with TV and Roku stick where I also get 80 - 100mbps. I evdn get full signal throughout most of my yard, in fact I still get 20mbps in my neighbor across the street's driveway. With the Google wifi I had 3 of them and the signal got degraded so bad that speeds would drop to 20 - 60 mbps in my second story and pool bar and signal was almost non-existant in the yard. This thing kicks Google wifi's butt.

First off, I'd like to say thank you for inventing this Orbi. I wish I had known about this sooner. I've been having difficulties with WiFi when I was using my cable provider's router. Most of the time, the router would just shut off on its own and then turn back on within a few minutes on its own as well. There would be times where WiFi was super slow when the speed test came out to be fine. I've had the router replaced many times and it never changed the problem.
That's when I thought about buying my own router and see if it would solve the problem. I went on Google and came across Mesh WiFi and I learned about t and then came across Orbi. The reviews were amazing, so I bought it. I'm so glad I did. It was totally worth it.
I'm not having any issues with WiFi and it is working very smoothly and fast.

Great WiFi System

I have had other standalone routers, but have always been left with some dead spots in our home (2k sq feet). We have had ours for about 6 months and I can say we have had 0 issues. No random wifi disconnects, just solid reliable wifi.
We have a 2 floor home, so I set one on each level. Setup was pretty easy, with no 'fiddling' required. I used the app to check for signal strength in the trouble areas after I had set it up, and they were all full power.
A mesh system is going to be more expensive than a standalone router, but if you use the internet as much as we do (phones, TV, computers, streaming music, video games, etc) a solid router is a worthwhile investment.
