Easy Setup and Clear Signal

After considering multiple reviews and the features of several popular mesh wifi systems, I decided on the NETGEAR Orbi. I am so far entirely satisfied. As an iOS fan, ease of set up and friendliness of use is important to me. The Orbi system and its accompanying application allowed for set up in minutes with no glitches or confusion. Though my home is large at 4000 sq feet, the wifi coverage with the RBK50 system has been excellent with no signal dropout. Over 30 devices are being handled without a hiccup or concern. The offerings of further wifi extender hubs, even weatherproof out door hubs, makes this system particularly attractive for expansion. I am confident that my choice has been the right one for area of coverage, simplicity of use and maintenance, speed, modern features and technology, and expandability.

Best wifi system

I have been very impressed by my new Netgear Orbi Wifi system. I live in a 5000 square foot apartment building that has 4 floors. I have tried lots of hacks or tricks to get coverage throughout my building for the last 2 years. When I saw the reviews for the Orbi system I had to give it a try. With 1 base station and 1 satellite I get coverage everywhere in my building. The most mind blowing aspect of the Orbi system is that I have the same down and up speed over WiFi, at the bleeding edge of my network, as I do hard wired to my router. My head almost exploded when I started doing speedtests. The only downside that I had was getting my satellite to connect to the base station. It was kind of a hassle as it just wouldn't seem to connect. But once it did, I have had no further problems after a month of use.Excellent system!!

Game-changing WiFi for your home!

I couldn't be happier with this purchase! I have owned and used more than two dozen different routers in two different houses over the last couple of decades. Most of the earlier ones were fairly complicated to set up. The Apple products I have been using for the last ten years have been easy to set up and use, but I never got the 'whole home' coverage and performance I was seeking. This set-up gives me the same blazing 179 mbps Internet speed I get in the back bedroom office were my cable model is virtually anywhere in the house. And for the first time, we now have great WiFi performance all the way out to our back patio and pool. The speed? The exact same as I get any where else in the house, including right next to the cable modem. I can't recommend this product highly enough. Buy it now. You definitely won't regret it.

Best Router System for the $$$

I've had an Asus router for years that served me well. However, my teenage sons started complaining (often) that their upstair's streaming devices were really lagging. I had heard about new router systems that mesh to provide more consistent speeds throughout your home. After much research, I settled on the Orbi RBR50. I now have 90 MB of streaming both upstairs and downstairs. My ISP advertised 100 MB of service, so these Orbis are pretty efficient. They are pretty much plug and play, but be sure to follow the set up instructions exactly. Save yourself a lot of time. The app allows you to customize your network name and set up a guest network. The home circle app allows you to set up content filtering for your family. It would be more convenient if it was all available on one up. Do the research, you'll come back to Orbi!

Great coverage, Easy Setup

Purchased an RBK50 (3 unit) Orbi System. Set up was easy using the simple instructions provided. For my installation, I'm using the Orbi mesh as an Access Point, instead of replacing my cable router. The setup was straight forward, and connecting the two Satellites was automatic and simple. Basically, once the Router is on, you power up the Satellite, Press the Sync button, and after a minute or two, you see a colored light confirmation that the back haul channel is connected. All of your devices can connect to any Orbi unit automatically - whether it's the Router or a Satellite- as they all appear as the same network. Unlike Wi-Fi extenders where the SSID is different, and you must manually connect your device each time. I finally have a seamless wireless network that has great coverage and throughput in my entire home.

Fast, vast, seemless coverage

When we moved into an old farmhouse that's grown and evolved over the years, I bought the most powerful router in the store at the time. Coverage was ok, not perfect. As we added wireless devices over the years and streaming devices became the norm, the limitations of the old device and its extender became increasingly obvious. Frequent resets became the norm.
I took a chance on the Orbi and have no regrets. It is not inexpensive and it is worth the cost. The network from main unit to satellite is seemless and I'd estimate an acre of the property has high speed access.
The base and the satellite are not small. They're not unattractive either. The matte texture and weight of them is pleasing. The performance even more so. If the size of the device works for the space in need of coverage, this is an excellent option.

Orbi RBK50

We have had the Orbi RBK50 package in our house for a few weeks now. Previously, with our single router we could not cover the whole house and had a few deadspots. We live in a 4800 square foot ranch style house. Both the router and satellite unit are upstairs, one is on one side of the house while the other is somewhat centralized/toward the other end of the house. We are able to have 3 bars of wifi throughout the whole house. I do not have very fast internet speed, so I cannot state how it holds up under blazing speed conditions, but so far we seem to be receiving better overall speeds and performance from our internet. I did extensive research before purchasing this unit and am very pleased with the purchase thus far. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Setup was very easy and painless. Overall great product.

Great Router at a Great Price

I did lots of research when purchasing a new home router. Upgrading from a 14 year old draft spec N router; we were suffering from overloading. The Orbi has solved all our issues. This system was easy to setup, from the time I opened the box to getting it running took less than 30 minutes. Once setup I was able to customize all the settings on the wireless and wired networks to my preferences. This has all the throughput we need for all of our homes wireless clients. We are no longer dropping smarthome devices and needing to restart them to keep them online. The coverage is amazing and we have no dead spots that I can find. The speed is great as well. I would recommend this router to anyone. It offers all the needs of a tech savvy home, but the simplicity to setup by anyone without needing a degree in computer science.
