Best, Most Reliable WiFi I've Ever Had

I am EXTREMELY happy with my Orbi. I have been slowly adding more automation to my home, and my old router was routinely dropping signal, disconnecting from my devices, and even though I set the parameters to stay on one band, it always reset itself to another. I also had to go to an obscure website in order to change the settings. I've had Orbi for over a month, and I have never once had a problem with a dropped or weak signal. I love that the settings are all accessible through the app on my phone, and when I tested the speeds, it's exactly what I'm paying for from my cable company. While it was a pricey investment, it's 100% worth it, because it makes my home automation perfectly usable and allows me to take full advantage of my broadband. I love my Orbi and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect!

All those empty wireless areas in my home where I struggled with signal being lost or non-existent, is now over. And I now get the speed that I've been told I would have! This system was extremely easy to set up, literally plug n play, and has continued to provide very strong signal without any breaks. No more moving my laptop or devices from certain areas just to get a wireless connection. I live in a 2-story home of about 4500sf with odd angled walls, two of which are firewalls (real, not virtual) that frequently skewed or caused my signal to drop. And there was only one place where I could place my router towards one end of the home behind one of those walls. The Orbi did not disappoint - it connected flawlessly to the router.
Orbi is a 5-Star and you will not be disappointed. A real keeper.

Great product

Love the new Netgear Orbi system I just put into the house. Our house is about 2400 square feet (2 stories), and the modem is located (of course) at the far end of the house on the first floor. Our bedroom is at the opposite end on the second floor. Wifi in our bedroom was always hit or miss, with slow speeds and dropping coverage constantly. Even in the room next to our router, speeds from our previous one would be in the mid-20 (mbs). A wired connection would be in the mid-90's. With the Netgear Orbi router and one satellite, I am getting speeds in the mid-60's throughout the house. Very easy to set up and use, even for a technonoob like me. Including the (automatic) downloading of updated firmware, it took about 30 minutes total to set it up and have it running. Very happy with the product.

Great system and WiFi coverage

After due diligence and searching for routers, I settled on the Orbi RBR50 system. I've never heard of this system so I was leary at first but the reviews I read are what sold me on it. I thought it may be a little overpriced and only bought it because I had several gift cards that I could use for it. After using this for about a month now, I can really see a change in internet speed throughout our hole house (2,900 sq ft) with multiple wireless devices. We have no issues when streaming TV and using iPads and cell phones at the same time. There may be other systems out there that are a little more cost effective but I'm very happy with the effectiveness of the Orbi. The only opportunity for improvement I see currently is it wasn't the easiest to setup, but once you've got that down it's smooth sailing.

It works

I followed the instructions and used the app for installation and firmware update. The process went smoothly. I live in an old house with plaster walls and a brick chimney between the base station and the satellite receiver - sitting upstairs, about 40 feet from the base station (next to the satellite) I get about 60 mbps of the 75 I pay for; to be fair, no other router has been able to deliver my ISP speeds sitting on the other side of the house. At the router, I get 75/75, so it seems to work fine. My only complaint is that I can't seem to separate the 2.4 and 5 ghz bands into separate networks. It seems like a lot of routers these days are starting to "steer" devices between the two bands automatically. I'd prefer to be able to set a device which stays in one place on a single band, to prevent blips.

Works like a charm

I read extensive reviews about mesh networks before purchasing. I whittled it down go the Orbi and Amplifi. Ultimately Costco ran an amazing deal and pick up the Orbi and two satellites. We have a a router in the basement and then two full stories over almost 6,000 square feet. Our masterbedroom always had slow WiFi. We live rurally so we only have 25 mbps. Now every corner or our house has full strength signal at 35 mbps. It took about 3 minutes to set up, you have to be a little patient with the app, but it's about as seamless as can be. I also updated firmware and that worked fine too. I am sure there will be more and more functionality added to the app, but it is working flawlessly after a week. Will updates again after 90 days. Whatever issues appeared with early units, seems to have been solved!!

Finally something that works.

For the past two years I've been using a Linksys EA6900 router with a RE6300 extender. This is the third type of WiFi equipment I've tried over the past ten years. My house is 3300 sq.ft. and shaped like a horseshoe. The router was positioned, more or less, in the center with the extender at one end. This set-up worked good if you were at the side of the house with the extender. Very poor reception at the other end of the house. I tried adding a another EA6300 extender with no luck.
With the Orbi Tri-Band RBK50 System problem solved. The router is still positioned in the center of the house with the 'satellite' at one end. I now get excellent reception at both ends of the house. Over 100mps no matter where I check the download speed. I am so pleased to have something that finally works.

Finally something that does what it should. After trying several brands of wireless routers (all claiming to be the best coverage and speed) extenders etc. we ended up on Orbi. I have had professionals tell me that any 'middle of the road' wireless router should more than cover my tiny 1100 sq ft house. We proved them all wrong. I have an all brick, block and plaster home that is hard on wireless signal. Orbi provides consistent coverage and speed throughout my entire house. Including downstairs! I even have above average coverage outside. We are a mostly Apple family and have no issues with switching between units as some other brands seem to experience. I have had WiFi since it was invented. For the first time I am satisfied with the results. No more settling for ' I guess this is as good as it gets'.
