Absolutely Fantastic

I was reading reviews and hearing anecdotal accounts of just how "great the Orbi WiFi System was, but I was still skeptical. Skeptical because over the last 9 years, I have tried all of kinds "fixes," "extenders," and whatnot to get solid internet access all over my single story duplex. It was built in 1940, back when they used brick, mortar, and solid wood to build homes. My place is narrow, but it is long. Nothing ever quite did the trick; until now. The Orbi Wifi System is revelation. If I wanted to stream movies, FaceTime, or do anything that required high speeds, I used to be stuck in my living room. Now, I can start in one room and walk around my whole place, even out to the garage, and it's blazing fast and consistent. The hype is real. Thank you for making a superb product, NETGEAR.

Final solution
on May 29, 2019

I moved to a new home and require a solid internet connection for my home office. Clear voice over IP and screen sharing are fundamental. I was challenged and frustrated with my traditional wireless router. The modem and many home devices are on the first floor and my office is downstairs on the opppsite corner with a concrete wall between. After much research, I went with the Orbi. I couldn't be happier with the '˜excellent' connection I now have no matter where I go in my home. Problem solved! It was simple to setup and was so easy to position with the sleek and '˜no wires' setup. I find the software interface and features like remote management really useful for monitoring connection speed and device connections. Highly recommend if you want to be done with your coverage problem.

Affordable whole house solution

I have some dead spots in my house. After a bunch of research I had narrowed down to two types of mesh systems. One "out of the box" solution, and one system combining routers of a certain manufacturer. After much consideration and comparisons of performance vs. price. The Netgear Orbi (RBK50) fit the bill perfectly. It's lower price point coupled with the AC3000 standard was just what I was looking for to solve my wifi requirements. Since the Orbi is an "out of the box" solution, the set up was easier than I could have imagined it would be, and the performance has been just what I expected. No more dead zones. The ability to create a guest network is also nice. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend the RBK50 kit for users in similiar circumstances to mine.

Apple Extreme to Orbi - A Great Move
on May 29, 2019

What's it like to move from Apple to something else. It's always unnerving, but not in this case. We have all Apple in our home and have had the Airport Extreme for some time, with an external USB drive attached. We were '˜extremely' nervous about moving to Orbi, as Apple is just easy. Well, so much for that, Orbi was as easy as pie. We were having performance issues, as we have some 30 WiFi devices in our home that include 8 Bose speaker, 3 Mac Books, a Music Server, a ton of WiFi outlets, a printer and some other things. The Apple Extreme was caving under the load and was just too old for the job. Orbi was setup within 30 minutes, probably less and worked flawlessly out of the gate. If you're an Apple user and expect Apple simplicity, Orbi delivers. I'd rate it a 10/10.

What we have been looking for!

If you are looking for a wireless router system to reach all corners of your house then don't hesitate on this one.
We have a 3,000sqft smart home with over 60 devices connected the internet and had issues with getting a strong signal at all devices.
This router instantly fixed that problem and took only seconds to set it up. We now have signal outside and a few houses down as well!
Additionally having Disney's circle built in was a huge win having 3 kids in the home under 8, we no longer have to worry about what they might click on with their iPad and have full visibility to every page they visit through the app.
If you want a strong signal without having to switch to extenders and has an added bonus to protect your family from unwanted sites then this is perfect for you!

Awesome

My wife and I decided to 'cut the cord' and start streaming instead of having wire TV.
We were disappointed of having interruptions when watching Netflix, etc, even though we were paying premium Internet service to get the highest speed available.
We decided to give Orbi a try, and.. we just love it!
We had not realized how much speed we were not taking advantage of up until we got Orbi.
Super easy to install. Super easy to set up the location of the satellite module, which by the way allows you to have the same full Internet speed all around the house (I previously had a 'signal enhancer' that would give me more signal range, but the trade was having half the speed when connected to such device).
Lastly, it looks good and modern, so no problem in placing it anywhere in the house

So far so good

Setup was pretty easy using the Netgear Orbi app. Had the Netgear CM1000 router/modem combo prior to Orbi installation. Once installed, I disabled the wifi radios from Netgear CM1000 router/modem combo by login into web browser as it was still transmitting WiFi signal. Once disabled, Orbi now does all the work and using the Netgear CM1000 as a modem only. I love the Netgear Orbi app as it allows me to see a network map and number of my connected devices. It also allows my to setup and turn off a Guest WiFi for visiting family and friends. Have seen an improvement with my wireless Direct TV boxes in reference to receiving better/faster service transmission. Prior to Orbi installation, I was experiencing too much lag and was considering switching back to coax boxes. I have held back. So far so good!!

Pleasantly suprised

Living in a long Chicago apartment, we've always had problems with wifi reaching the back of our unit. Combine that with a ton of other wifi networks competing for the same coverage, and we've never had a good wifi experience here in the city. We were very suprised when Orbi actually worked as well as advertised. And was pretty easy to use.We did have issues early on. One firmware updates not allowing our wifi password to use special characters (how the heck did that pass QA??). For a span of 2 weeks after the next update, we had our satellite drop coverage at least once a day. Even with those problems, though, I'd still recommend it. For the past year it's been smooth sailing, and far and away better than any other router I've ever used, troubleshot (shooted?), or set up for myself/family/friends.
