Excellent Internet..At last

Xfinity claimed I had 65Mbps but I measured 30Mbps and sometimes less in a 2 Floor poured concrete condo with lots of rebar using an older Apple Extreme. After changing RG6 cables, connectors not much improved so it was down to the router. I installed an ORBI with the Base unit near the cable service entrance on Floor 1 and the Satellite on Floor 2 as far removed as possible from the base. Viola! After an easy setup I now receive 70Mbps throughout the condo and outside on the patio. Streaming which had been problematical is no longer a concern. Great product with excellent results. Both units are unobtrusive and the base unit rests on a living room end table; It also connects to a MagicJack for our internet based telephone service. Absolutely no issues with my ORBI.

Blown away

Orbi is amazing! I was averaging under 100mbps with my Spectrum service, which they claimed was capable of 200mbps. My internet signal was especially poor in my basement. I tried an extender, which was pretty useless, so I returned it and decided to give Orbi a try. The set up was extremely easy, and the units look great. Now for the real test...I opened my speed app and pressed GO...214mbps! What's?!? Must be mistake, so I ran it a second time...234mbps!! I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I ran to the basement confident that even in the basement I should get 150mbps or so. I was shocked to find that there was no drop off at. I was getting the same 200+ speeds in the basement as I was on the main floor. I cannot recommend Orbi enough, it's incredible!

Ultimate Power!
on May 29, 2019

I recently purchased the NETGEAR ORBIE RBK50 because I heard it was extranet powerful. My house is made up with interior walls that are concrete. No mesh network was powerful enough to get through the walls so my WiFi internet speed was less than desirable. I do not have that problem with Orbi at all now. The satellites are extreamly powerful and I only need the router and two satellites to cover my house. With other mesh networks I needed at least 4 to 5 pieces of equipment. I love how it automatically switches between 5.0hz and 2.4hz. All my devices wereeasily connected to the network. Overall this has been an amazing product and the customer service is equally as good. I would recomend the Orbi to anyone that will listen. Thank you for delivering on a product!

Easy Setup and High Quality WiFi
on May 29, 2019

I purchased this router/satellite combination (RBK50) to expand the signal strength to my garage and back patio. It was relatively painless to set up and I was up and running in a little less than '½ hr. Signal strength is strong all over my home and outside on the back patio. So far, I'm very pleased with the performance. The web interface is pretty good as is the mobile app, so I can monitor performance easily. Also, the router is good at automatically selecting 5GHz-capable devices and separating them from 2.4GHz devices. The only issue I experienced was when I tried to do an automatic update of firmware. It took me a bit to figure out how to get everything back to normal. The next firmware update I do will be done manually as explained in Netgear's Orbi documentation.

Great Mesh System
on May 29, 2019

I installed this Orbi AC3000 myself and was really happy with how simply it was to complete. People reported issues connecting Sonos and all I needed to do was connect my Sonos to the new Orbi SSID and then reboot the system through my web browser to get Sonos to connect directly to the router. Then the mesh AP's came online shortly after. The biggest reason I went with Orbi is it seemed that throughput was the best on this system vs. all other options. Secondly the coverage was much better than the other options. I no longer have mobile phone dead spots when I am connected to WiFi and my phone on a speed test gets a consistent 400Mbps down, 400Mpbs up regardless of where I am in the house. Highly recommend this system for anyone looking to upgrade their home wifi system.

Almost Perfect

I'm a Network guy and the Orbi really takes a lot of the "techness" out of the "router/network". This is great because homeowners want a system that is wonderful, fast and secure, but they seldom set up a traditional router fully. Orbi makes it easy to have a full mesh wifi system (a good one) up and running properly in very short order and the user is confident in it's operation. Very happy with the Orbi system with one recommendation.... Why not have the "ring" light on top glow constantly? Home owners would love to know it is working all the time and to what level.... You already have the cool colored light system in place.... Why have it go dormant? Makes no sense to me... It would be much cooler and the home owner would feel much more "assured" in their system.

Perfect

I did a fair amount of research on this product as well as the linksys and google systems, and from what I read most people preferred this system. I must say, I'm very happy with my choice. I live in a 2400 sq ft home, so I have a router and one satellite. The coverage is flawless over the entire house and i even get WiFi outside in my front yard and back yard. The download speed and upload speed are as advertised, and the satellite works perfectly. I used the mobile app to set up and it was super easy. I need a good router system on top of strong internet because I game and normally have multiple devices connected and running at a time, and this system hasn't skipped a beat. I highly recommend this system to anyone who is thinking about upgrading their router equipment.

Better than Apple
on May 29, 2019

I had the old Apple Airport Extreme system and it used to drop WiFi connections every single day. This is so much better and I am able to block internet connection if my kid are using the iPad more than allotted. Also this does get range of more than 7500 sq meter probably because of my walls.
The two issue I had was below:
- I tried the initial setup using the Orbi app but it crashed and I had re setup 2 times but a call with the support solved that issue
- I use a VPN (Pulse Secure) to connect to my office, for a long time I couldn't figure out the issue why I was not able to connect. Through research online, I found out that this was due to not enabling VPN in the router setup. If you use VPN, you should enable that option through routers setting on the computer.
