Amazing Wi-Fi
on May 29, 2019

Dumped cable company's Wi-Fi modem that never worked throughout our small house, bought my own modem and the Orbi. Immediately boosted our Speed and connectivity for every Wi-Fi connected device, UHD TV's, Apple TV's, Phones and Thermostat. Unbelievable function. I have recommended it to 10 different people this past week. Thank you Orbi for making our connected life, Truly connected. Our Nest thermostat would regularly connect to xfinity Wi-Fi hotspot because the signal from my xfinity modem could not maintain connection. Frequently my thermostat was technically 'offline' when connected to xfinity Wi-Fi hotspot. So remote changing or checking my thermostat was lost. I can actually stream UHD content now on my TV's. Thank you Orbi!

This is a LIFESAVER

I was skeptical, but literally, I took it out of the box, followed the simple instructions, had the router and the 2 satellites do their voo-doo, then they upgraded firmware and was off to the races. I get wifi coverage inside and outside everywhere. I have a 2 story 4000 square foot home. No dead spots. I then configured the router just as you configure any Netgear Router. Very easy, added the port forwards for my security cameras and done! And to cap it all off, I connected the system as an ethernet backhaul so this rocks. Who ever thought I'd get wifi speeds of 400K+ down in places and a minimum of 95K everywhere else. Spend the extra money and get the Orbi. Way better than the Google system which I returned after 2 days and spotty coverage.

Absolutely fantastic

I have had many routers before. The last was a Netgear Nighthawk. It gave great service, but I was tired of the reduced service of the extended that I had to use to get signal on another floor. Since switching to the Orbi, signal is off the scale on both floors. I used to live with the complication of losing 5Ghz signal when my landline was in use since it operates in that band too. It was possible to switch my laptop over to 2.4Ghz, get a signal again, and then continue. Then it was remembering to switch back over to 5Ghz again. The phone does not bother the signal at all with the Orbi. I'm not sure if it's strength of the signal or if may it's hopping back and forth to give me the best signal. But either way, it's great to not be interrupted.

Excellent Wireless Mesh Router
on May 29, 2019

For the past 3 months, I have been searching for a great wireless mesh networking system to use in my 4500 sq ft home. After reading review after review from the experts, I decided to go with the Orbi system. I am so happy I did! First of all, the setup was simple. Just download the app and follow the prompts. The system was up and running in less than 15 minutes. Second, is the speed! Boy do I love the speed of this system. We have 33 devices connected to our wifi network and I'm still getting download speeds of 100mbps. We finally have great wifi coverage throughout our house, even the backyard. No more dead zones. The only negative about this unit is that it is a lot bulkier than some of the other systems out there. Overall, this thing rocks!

Almost perfect

Our apartment is set up in a way that makes it much longer than it is wide, which made wifi really unreliable towards the back, in the bedroom. We also never had full speed on our wifi and spectrum said they only guarantee full speed on hard wire. Orbi has fixed both of those problems. Now we even get wifi in our detached bonus room that we use as storage/gym. This is great since now we have a reliable signal to keep Arlo back there for security. The only thing missing is that I wish we could choose what devices should have priority on the 5g network. We have a lot of smart devices which only work on 2.4g, so sometimes they go offline if Orbi tries to put them on 5g. Other than that, we've been happy with for the 6 months or so that we've had it.

Great Bang for your Buck

After extensive research and hours of mulling around on which of the latest whole home WiFi systems to purchase, I'm very happy with the price, operation, and support that Orbi (and Netgear) provides. Not only was the initial set up a breeze (basically just plug and play with minor personalized security changes), but when an error was made with the login and registration, it was rectified within 24 hours of contacting support and explaining the situation.
The connection speeds, and overall lack of packet losses, are stellar and a huge improvement over my previous router model. Additionally, regardless of satellite placement within my two story home, the latency is kept at a bare minimum.
Thank you for the quick support and awesome product!

New house... Orbi solved our WiFi coverage issue
on May 29, 2019

We just moved into a new house and due to the location of our modem/router, we our WiFi coverage was terrible. I did some research and found good reviews for the NETGEAR Orbi High-Performance AC3000 Tri-Band WiFi System (RBK50). I was a little apprehensive because of the price of the unit, but I am glad I pulled the trigger and purchased it. It was really easy to set up and has worked flawlessly so far. Just for reference: our home was built in 1960, first floor 2800 sq ft, second floor 700 sq ft. One piece of the unit was put in one corner of the first floor and the second piece is centrally located on the second floor. With them located this way I have WiFi coverage all the way from the patio by the pool to the other end of the second floor.

Finally the Wifi problem resolved...

Ok, Orbi isn't cheap at first glance, but it's worth its money! First you can stop buying a new router every 1-2 years that looks more and more like a spider or an alien and consumes more space than your laptop in the hope of solving your "I have no reception in this area" problem. Second you get your whole house covered, full stop. We have a rather large house built in a lengthy shape, and according to Murphy's Law my internet comes in at one of the short ends. So this is where my base sits, the satellite is about in the middle of the house on the 2nd floor - full reception everywhere. And I'm not giving up half of my speed like with a regular repeater. Read a bit online, and you will find out that Orbi is the best mash solution out there. Go buy!
