Excellent Upgrade from Airports

Pros: Covers my whole house (about 5000 sq ft over 2 levels) plus basement and outside with a strong Wifi signal. Originally had a 5th generation airport extreme downstairs and a 4th generation airport extreme upstairs (hardwired as a repeater) - best I could achieve was 200 Mbps (in the same room as the router), but it varied down to 86 Mbps (like my garage). After installing the Orbi, my best was 760 Mbps (at the router or satellite) and only down to 315 Mbps in my garage. Cons: If you hardwire the satellite, make sure you upgrade the firmware before you connect via ethernet, so ethernet backhaul is recognized . It took me a few tries to realize that this was the holdup on my install.

I have been on the search for the best high performance WiFi. I have used Plume, Google WiFi, and others and after paying for 300 Mbps download. I would only be able to get about third the speed averaging about 80-90 Mbps across all others routers. As I work in a 2 floor 7000 square ft house. Most WiFi just don't perform or just have the capability to reach my room witch located on a second floor to the far right of my household. Orbi though comes through being a God send giving be an outstanding 380-400 Mbps download speed when i'm near the router and about 300 Mbps when i'm in my office. Thank You! Netgear for bringing the consumer what they asked for a reliable and strong WiFi connection.

Couldn't be more pleased!

I have a large house and needed larger WIFI coverage than 1 router provided. Tried an extender but that didn't work. Considered access points since I have ethernet in 2 far areas of house, but after reading about Mesh Systems decided that was better way. When ORBI's update included using backhaul, I knew that was the one. It's extremely simple to install. In fact most of my time was unhooking and re-hooking up cables. The setup for a 3 unit ORBI was 1/2 hr. Main thing to remember is to power down your modem and power back-up. I skipped that step and it didn't work and to start over. My ISP provides 100mbs and I now have 90mbs upload at far ends of house and over 70mbs in my garage!

Finally a solution for my house!

I am very impressed with the Orbi. I have a 4000 square foot house and with the cable modem on one end of the house. I was unable to get a signal at all at the other end of the house with my Apple AirPort Extreme. Because I was also trying to use my Tivo and stream in several rooms, I tried Powerline adapters. However, my 40-year-old home's wiring got overwhelmed by the complexity of the setup. I bought the Orbi after doing lots of research about mesh networks, thinking that would be the answer. To my surprise, all the reviews I read gave high marks to Orbi, even though it is not a mesh network per se. With the Orbi, I am finally able to get a reliable WiFi signal throughout the house.

Not bad

I gave it 5 stars because I bought the linksys E9500 and it's the biggest piece of garbage. I stopped buying linksys years ago more like over a decade ago because they were not reliable. It would drop signal like crazy and it had me arguing with my cable provider. I decided to give them a shot and worst decision ever. But I'm very happy with the Orbi. Trust me it is extremely plug and play as long as you follow the simple directions provided. I've seen some pretty bad reviews and I'm yet to duplicate them. But here's a surprise I'm actually an IT technician and trust me I've troubleshooted and tested a few brands and this one works. Great buy and the satellite concept is great.

Fantastic Speed! Fantastic Coverage!

With the slow and unreliable ATT Modem this is a welcomed addition to our home entertainment experience. With all our home devices being 'smart" you really need to have a fast mesh system so all the connected devices are not dragging your Wi-Fi system down. There is no latency from one satellite to another. I have fiber and the Wi-Fi speeds before would top out using the gateway at 75Mbps. Testing it during the highest usage times my speed does not drop under 750Mbps while my family are all on Netflix. Etc. To sum it up: I have not had one single dropped signal or slow speeds from my smart t.v apps. Love this product and would recommend to anyone annoyed with their providers junk Wi-Fi Box.

Super Wifi Coverage

Went from a Netgear N300 to the Orbi. Now I can get wifi outside in my barn which was my goal. I thought I might need an outside extender but the base router was just strong enough to get the signal to the satellite placed inside the barn (put it in the window). Speed is a bit faster than the old router too. Very easy to set up. The only glitchy moment was getting the modem data line to connect to the router. I did have to turn the modem off again while leaving the router on (contrary to the instructions). But that may have been a unique occurrence. I haven't "unpowered" the system to see if it comes back on line without specifically sequencing the components on. Super happy with my purchase.

Netgear Orbi AC3000

This Orbi Router is 'Awesome'. The router gives me over 200 mbps (0n 200mbps broadband service). The signal is strong through out our 2 story 3600 square foot house and even covers our backyard. This router was a solution for my situation in which I was getting good coverage through out the house and my Wi-Fi was slow. At first I didn't like that I couldn't select which router my devices could connect to or choose 2.4g or 5g for specified devices. The system does this automatically and to be frank, it has not been an issue. The system is able to connect the closest devices to each router and select the fastest service possible. I am very happy with this unit and would buy it again.
